Hello Ladies! Today is grocery day so we'll be heading into the city….it's nice to do what you have to do there and then get out ASAP as far as we're concerned. Before we leave though I'm keeping my eyes out for Eeyore our little male dinky donkey…he was…gulp …castrated yesterday so he's a little under the weather today. Poor boy. OH well…in two weeks he'll be over with his girlfriend so it will be worth it. Well..maybe not…..NoFork

I plan on leaving work a little early today so I can enjoy the nice weather.

Hello JeannieB….I wish we had your Blue Birds here but at least we have robins and Cardinals. I think Eeyore is still pretty sore but at least he's come out of the lean-to to eat some green grass and then walked over to the barn to eat a little sweet feed and hay. I'm sure he's got to be VERY sore…he's walking REALLY slow. The chickens are loving it though…they're all over his pasture and not worried that he's going to try and pound them into the ground…who said chicken were dumb! Hope you're all having a wonderful day.

Hubby and I did "ranch sitting" chores this morning.  Here we have been blaming Casper, the goat for jumping into the fenced hay storage area, and when we pulled in there's  Ned, the old goat lying on the (what used to be) a round bale!  He didn't even bother to get up!  But, the chickens were happy to see us.  We've been "spoiling" them with an extra ration of corn!

Now, I'm off to wash some floors……

May get some bulbs in the ground today.  Discovered a couple of boxes of bulbs with bulbs in them that were forgotten last fall when the rest of them were put out.  Some are sprouting very nicely.  Hmmm.  What to do!  This is the wrong time to set them out, but figure that more are likely to survive if set out anyway than if they are left in the box.

We shall see!

Good luck with the planting Pete!  I have so many flowers that need to be dug up and seperated, but just don't have the energy to tackle them.  I have told several of the girls that work with me that they can have all they want, but I'm not going to do all the work, if they want them, they will have to dig.

Wow …weddings and birthdays….Dede you've been a busy girl getting ready for all these things! Have fun and congratulations to the bride and groom!

Jeannie …wish I lived close to you…I'd be there helping you dig as we don't have much for flowers around this old farm. That will change over the years though…one step at a time. '

Hope everyone has a great weekend!    oh…we have a snow storm coming in…what a way to start the first day of spring! Oh well….nothing we can do about it.  Take care.     Maura

I spent my day with the horses at the boarding barn.  I rode the younger one the past couple days.  He was pretty good.  I haven't ridden all that much when it's been really cold.  It was 60 here today and the horses know it's spring.  They are all full of energy.

It's official:  I need to get out more!  We drove 45 miles to the only Steak 'n Shake in WV, because it is my favorite fast food restaurant, and because we had never been to this one since it opened.  Well, that and because it was a good enough excuse to go for a mini adventure!

While out and about we spotted a Hobby Lobby.  Never having been to one, we simply had to see it.  Folks here have mentioned it so often that I was intrigued.  Wow!  It was like our local (small) Michael's on steroids!!  A little bit of everything.  I was good, though, and only got some candle wicks and clearanced yarn.  They had silk yarn, bamboo yarn, alpaca yarn, and the best selection of assorted wools in pretty colors that I have ever seen!  (Hadn't we already decided that I need to get out more?)

So, am now resting up from the adventure – which was a spur of the moment thing, after I'd done quite a lot of work in the garden.  Much better than my original plan to go to the grocers…

Sounds like great fun Pete!  Much more fun than hanging laundry which is what I did today, though that in it's way is good too.

No Hobby Lobbies near me but I once lived where they could be found so I know what it's all about!

I don't know how you resisted all the nice yarns when you are learning to knit, you DO need to learn how different yarns 'feel' you know!!!  Laugh
