OfflineFall is around the corner here in the pacific northwest. 44 degrees this morning, after a summer full of 98-99 degrees. Fortunately, we have very low humidity.
The fair season is starting, and I am rar'ing to attend as many as I can. I love small town fairs and our big interstate one.
Doing a lot of Christmas baking, fortunately I have loads of freezer space. One freezer is used strictly for Christmas goodies. So far, this week, choc/choc chip zucchini breads (18 mini loaves, more to come), pineapple/macadamia nut mini cakes (12 loaves so far), etc., etc. In another few weeks I start in on the rum cakes for family. The ones where you wrap them in rum soaked cheesecloth, and let sit for a few weeks. Then toss out the cake, wring out the cloth and drink the rum. I AM KIDDING! These go to family in Seattle, if they get past the TSA inspectors. The inspectors have left notes in my luggage in the past saying "oh, so tempting". The fact they are wrapped in foil triggers the search.
This is my favorite time of the year.

Extremely muggy and about 80 degrees. It has been raining off and on today which is a good thing. We had nearly 3 inches of rain this past week end and are so grateful, that is almost as much as we had the entire summer. We are forcast to have some rain through the next several days, with a few storms thrown in, if not severe, they are welcome as well.

OfflineOur weather today has been PERFECT! Yesterday afternoon we did have a severe storm, which took the heat and humidity right with it! Today it has been a most pleasant 70 degrees with DRY air … ahhh, I think I'll put an order in for this perfect weather for 365 days a year – um, with rain as needed. ![]()

OfflineWe have dropped into the 80s at least for the next 10 days with night temps even getting into the 60s. That means fall is definatelly on it's way!
Not as many 100+º days this year thank goodness and LOTS more rain that we have had for the last several years.

OfflineOh boy, 58 degrees right now here this morn … feels great … a hot air balloon across the road … hummers still coming to our feeders / gardens … only to get in the low 70's today, and I think 'they' are still calling for the dry air / comfortable weather – doesn't get much better than this! ![]()

OfflineRain, beautiful rain the first we have had in weeks. So far we have recorded 1.5 inches in the gauge; this has fallen in 8 hours. Some flooding of creeks in the burn scar area but the rain is welcome anyway.

OfflineI live in the Pacific NW too LatteLady!! I am in the Tacoma area. We didn't go to the fair this year but as we drove past after picking up duck feed at Del's, my 5 year old saw the throng of people waiting to cross the street and said, "Wow, that's a really big family!"
I heard on the news that we are probably going to have at least another dry week. I don't remember it ever being so dry for so long.

OfflineIt was rather nippy here last night…tonight too.
My daughter, in Maryland, said the power company came by warning her that she could be without power in a couple of days and to tell her not to walk on downed power lines. Please say some prayers for all of friends and family in the path of the incoming storm.
