AND I found a few, ok, lots of those when I actually did my hair into a style!  It's not noticeable everyone told me (blonde hair), but I just don't believe them, I could see them!  (only 39!)

I found my first one on my 23rd birthday LOL. My mom is 75 and her hair is about 50/50 or maybe 60/40 but still does not look "grey" overall. I keep mine long and curly and the silver ones are not too obvious but when my hair is wet you can see the streaks LOL. I truly do not mind – I earned them all and I tell my fam that there are tiny nametags on the end of each one and that they each own MANY Laugh

I have always hoped that if my hair goes totally grey that I would get my paternal grandfather's hair – snowy white and glistening Happy Flower

Well I got his blue eyes …..

When your seventeen year old son says to you… "Oh Mom, your hair is so silvery." (And meant it as a compliment.)

I haven't decided whether I like the grey or not.  I go through phases when I'm okay with it and phases when I hate it.

Oh Dear Ladies….didnt mean to upset youLaugh…..Why is it classed as "distingue" in a man?? yet invokes panic in ladies when grey/silver appears?

Oh, I'm not going to go against it!  It just sort of sneaks up on you, I guess!!  I just never thought I would have gray hair when I still feel so young!  Laugh  Neither Mom (80) or Dad (70) are totally gray yet…………..

And do you know how much work dying your hair really is????  Then there's the upkeep of the roots……which looks BAD, at least gray hair blends in with blond and looks more like highlights! Laugh

Yep.  For anyone who wants to do it, terrific!  Dye away.  But for many of us, looking at the grey just reminds that there are lots of folks who pay big money to get this effect!  Hurray for salt & pepper!!

Yep, I dyed my hair for years, now I'm experimenting with natural. I'm not sure yet how I feel about it.  If I could find the right product that doesn't make things one flat color, that might be better, but that would involve testing too many.  I've had a few bad experiences with it.  If I do dye it, I think I'll go a brighter red shade like it is in my avatar.  …oh that's right, my picture isn't my avatar anymore.  Hmmmm,  And it's been cut since my last picture, well, here's my old one with no gray because it was taken at least ….holy cow! *counts on fingers* at least 12 years ago!  yeesh!  I'll really need to update that especially if I do dye it! Here's this one and I'll look for a more current one, Also, If I do dye it I'll post that too!  LOL  I'm a real glutton for punishment.  This one is VERY out of date so do NOT believe it!  The years have worn me down a bit.  I just don't have time to update things, but I will, I'm not afraid of my age.  This is actually a pretty fun topic.  I'll post Old Me, and NEW OLD ME!  because they actually mean the complete opposite of what they sound like.  Old me is young me and new me is Old me!  Oh my head hurts!

You know you're old when…..you receive the "senior citizen" (or "honored citizen") discount without even mentioning that you are over 55.

Everyone has a Prince Charming. Mine just took a wrong turn, got lost, and is too stubborn to ask for directions.

Leah, thats good manners. It reminds me when I was 18,and thats going back a bitLaughbefore I began flight training,we had to pass ground school, which believe it or not included lessons on etiquette.A gentleman was expected to know how to behave.Although we could be hooligans in certain respects, one was expected, nay it was demanded that your manners when a lady was present were impeccable.

Two rules ,if you can call them that were; A gentleman must wear a hat when out,in order that he may raise it to acknowledge a lady.

Encountering a lady when out, of your acquaintence, who is carrying bags or parcels. You must offer to carry them, for ladies are not beasts of burden.

So, I conclude that you knew the young man????????????? Care to tell us about itLaughLaughLaughLaughLaugh

lol - I am so sorry Chris, that you were frustrated by that young lady's response. What did you say? Its great that you keep in shape. I used to do the jogging thing too until about two years ago when we moved here and had no where to jog. I started it up again last spring on the road but got too busy working outside to keep it up and I was getting enough exercise outside everyday anyway. Now I shovel snow or push and wrestle with the big snowblower or walk to town and back, about 2k one way.

I have always coloured my hair and have been almost every box on the shelf at one time or another, usually some shade of red as I have green eyes and the colouring to go with it. I am now, also, experimenting with natural. The gray is a shock and I have lots of it all over with one big streak on the right front! I have also decided to grow it really, really long and just keep it braided a lot of the time to protect it. I had it cut off quite short a couple of years ago but it is below shoulder length now, one reason I decided to quit colouring it. I would need two boxes and just can't afford to keep it done. Colouring also damages it severely, making it hard to grow long. I even wrote a blog post a few weeks ago about growing and keeping long hair. My goal is at least waist length if not longer and it will be mostly gray, I think.

I started getting gray hair when I was 25, Mama hated it.  She would tell me, get some Clariol, you make me feel old with that grey hair.  Over the years, I have tried several colors, but my hair grows so fast, that in a few weeks I had a skunk look, it just was not worth it and I didn't think that so many chemicals on my head were a good idea.  I'm tell everyone that every grey hair has a story behind it and that they are responsible for a few themselves.  It doesn't bother me, I'm 60 and just proud to be alive and rather healthy.

Don't cry because it's over—smile because it happened!
