I went to a craft sale last week and a lady was selling paper bag albums for 40 up.  They were heavily embellished for all the holidays, some spelled out Father etc.  They were beautiful but I could not bring myself to pay 40 for one.  If you go online you can find them.  They are so economical to make and beautiful.  You can decorate anyway you want to.

Scrapbookie.com has one.  I found a video of one too.  There are several ways to make them.  You can use the lunch sacs or colored one frome the craft store and decorate and embellish any way you want to.  This lady used cardboard cut outs of the letters like Father so it fanned out the name.  A great idea.

I've seen these, jane, they are just way cute.

I wouldn't be able to bring myself to pay $40 for one, probly, because I know I could make that…….but many people who aren't crafty will and do.  Nothing against those that do.  We have to support the handcrafters!

Here's a site I have bookmarked for them!  (I have many bookmarks of "Things to Do"  Smile)

This is a great site.  Thanks for posting it.  Lots of great ideas here.  Once you get the bags together, it is easy to decorate the pages.

I'm a craft junkie, but i'm trying to start a real business. so while i've been making things for years for family and friends, i want to clear out my stock of crafts. with four kids and a part-time job, i need the space and i have no more time right now!

so i've started 2 etsy shops; one for jewelry and one for random things.

i've looked at everyone's shop and the quality is just amazing! beautiful stuff. i can hardly visit etsy without buying something…it's better than any store or mall!

Everyone's stuff is just beautiful!

I like those stones too, Chickypez! Beautiful pendants there!

I have an Etsy account but have not used it yet. Maybe I will. Is there a lot of traffic and do people really buy stuff form there?

I make beaded lanyards, eyeglass chains and key chains and am looking for a place to sell them. I make jewelry too, but just custom stuff. I make the beads as well to match the outfit.

I am always looking for a place to sell soap and art. EBay has been pretty good for selling the artwork. I haven't posted anything else on there.

Good Morning!

Sheryl – a new sight which is very much like Etsy is TrendyIndie.com.  This was started by the daughter of a friend of mine and I think it will be as big as Etsy before long but it is way cheaper to sign up with no % of sales being taken so you and others may want to check it out.  Plus – there are lots of things to look at while you are there.

I love your elephant painting – you have such beautiful talent.

I love the idea for the paper bag scrapbooks. My daughter-in-law hosted a Paper bag scrapbook party at her house last weekend.( After I told her what I had seen here!!!)
She supplied glue and bags and stuff to munch on. We brought paper and embellisments. It was a lot of fun and we plan to have another one. We didn't finish it in one evening….but we got a good start and lots of ideas…When mine is a little farther along, I'll try to post some pics. It really is fun and easy!!!!

Gorgeous embroidery. I'm jealous. I used to love to do things like that, but my hands don't cooperate anymore.

I 'discovered' this site when I was searching to see what plarn is.

http://diyfashion.about.com/od…..larn_4.htm

I thought that it may be useful for some of the crafters on the forum.

If it's got tyres or testicles it's trouble.

Oh, good heavens, Rose, thanks for the link. My daughter has a paper route and those blue plastic bags are floating everywhere about my house. I try to think of a way to at least use them before I toss them but there is only so much dog poop to scoop (I use them when I walk my dog to pick up after him. You put one hand in the bag, pick up the poo with it and pull the bag down over said poo, tie bag top, try not to look embarassed as you carry a bag of poo through town and pray to God that you don't met up with anyone who wants to chat.)

I actually thought "plarn' was a mis-spelling when I first read it here in the forums. So glad I'm the nosy sort.
