I read the piece on the burlap and tulle angel. I would love to have a copy of the original pattern. I looks like one I used years ago to make beautiful treetop angels and want to make them again. Does anyone have that pattern and want to share? In particular, I need the dimensions of fabrics and the lengths and sizes of the trims. Also, instructions on the wings. I remember the rest of the instructions, but I am coming up blank on the wings! : /

Suzanne's original post on the blog-side is here: http://chickensintheroad.com/house/crafts/an-angel-in-burlap-and-tulle/ I believe it's a pretty free form sort of thing with very few specific requirements.  In the one picture we can read a bit of the original directions, but part of her charm is that if you like what you make, it's made right!

BEG I tried to check out the site for the angel and repeatedly said this was unavailable.  Can it be restored?  It is a cute rustic  ornament which a lot of us would like to make.  There is a site (I think it was Penny Lane) who has a pattern for $8.00.  I don't think so.  Might even be able to look at the picture and figure it out that way.  Anyway, thanks for restoration if possible.

I went back out and checked the other side – I was wrong.  It is Pineberry Lane.  This is an extremely rustic piece which in the right place might be charming.  However, I prefer the CITR angel.  She is charming, cute as a button and only slightly rustic.  CITR wins again.shimmy

I still would like the original pattern. I managed to get an angel made today but ……

Actually she turned out pretty good but I know with the instructions it is easier and will turn out nicer. I did manage the wings but ended up with a bit of a problem with the arms and hands.

datacoll check out the second link posted by BEG.  The pattern/instruction is there.  I don't think there is a pattern per se but the tutorial is easy to follow.  Good luck.  Sometimes all we need is practice, but in handcrafts there is no wrong way to do it.  The project will show your own individuality.

Thank you for your efforts.

As I said, I read the piece. It is the original pattern that was partly displayed that I am interested in not the tutorial which is different than the original. I hope I don't sound like I dont appreciate the tutorial, I would just REALLY like a copy of the magazine instructions. Those are for a tulle and lace angel that is also pictured in the piece I read and that I have read. I understand the writer didn't understand the original pattern and made up her own using the picture of the lace angel as a guideline. I made the lace angels years ago and have just forgotten some of the details that will make it easier to finish.  Even information on the magazine and issue so I can search further.

As I said in my last post I was working on the angel, I did complete it but was not totally happy with the result. I think the original instructions will help me figure it out.

From what it says in the blog post, that was an article that MMHoney had, not Suzanne necessarily… though she may have gotten a copy at the time.  Now, I'm not going to mention MMHoney's age, a lady just doesn't discuss such things about such a nice person as MMHoney, but that magazine article could have been from quite some time ago, plus the blog post was just about a year ago and Suzanne's just moved so I wouldn't count on her being able to lay hands on it if she did or does have it.

Suzanne is very conscious of copyright infringement issues being a writer herself, so while having that bit showing lets us know that she had it, she's not likely to post something directly from a magazine… If MMHoney had enough to show what the magazine was, maybe you'd be able to track it down that way, but it's hard to say under the circumstances since it's probably difficult to say what box, crate, tub or stack those directions may be in today.

Thank you for the reply.  I certainly understand the copyright issue. I guess I will continue my search but if the article should surface and has information about the magazine where it was first published so I can go at finding it another way, I would appreciate the information. Thanks again.
