If common sense were truly common, wouldn't there be more evidence of it?

I have a friend who lives in a farmhouse that has a barn and a summer kitchen she has fixed up for a studio.  It's a few steps from the back door of the main house. So cute.shimmy

That sounds great Darlene!  Does it still have any of the kitchen fixtures in it?

Back in the days of strictly wood stoves and brick ovens, a summer kitchen both kept the main house cool in the summer, but it also meant that if someone was careless with the ovens or stove, or else a chimney got too dirty, a fire there meant the house stood a better chance of surviving.

After there was more gas and electric stoves, it became more of a convenience for summer baking and for canning so that the kitchen could be kept cleaner for normal day to day things.
