Is there a home made cleaner for the smooth top stoves? My sis just moved into a house that has one, she's never had one before, no manual with this one. Any suggestions?

Remember, if it rains on your picnic it's also raining on your garden!

I use baking soda and water paste with a scrubber pad.  To shine it, I spritz vinegar/water and wipe dry.

They do have cleaners that you can buy specifically for smooth top stoves.  I never did.  I just used Bar Keeper's Friend on mine when it needed a good scouring.  My husband read that to remove burnt on spots to take a razor blade and scrape the mess off.  He was leery of trying this, afraid that it would scratch the surface, but it worked without damaging the stove's surface.

I save all those "cards" you get with "those" applications in the mail and excpired credit cards and use them whenever I have dried on places.

I use the recipe below for my glass stove top.  It works as well as anything I've purchased from the store.

1 2/3 c. baking soda

1/2 c. liquid soap

1/2 c. water

2 Tbs. white vinegar

Mix well. Pour in squirt bottle. Shake well before each use.
