I was wondering if anyone else makes lotions to sell? I have a craft fair coming up in June and have been making lotions to go with my soaps.  I had a little problem last night, I found a recipe online and followed it EXACTLY which I am used to making my own recipes up, anyway I had to PIPE it into my bottles, kind of like frosting a cake, I wanted it to be a little more fluid, now I am wondering if I should take it ALL out of the bottles and add either more distilled water or oil to it, just wondering if anyone has any ideas.  The lotion is loaded with Shea butter, Almond oil, Coca butter, Sesame oil and vitamin E, I used E-wax and stearic acid for emulsifying.  It is a really nice lotion, just a little hard to get out of the bottles, which is probably not a good thing when you want to sell something.nonocry

lizzie,

I don't have any experience making lotions, but could you put it in different type containers, i.e. ones with wide mouths, and sell it as a "body butter" type product?

That's a good idea, judydee!

If you're wanting to keep them in those bottles, I would dump one out (or squeeze with all your might!), mix in a little hot water and let it cool.  Just testing one will let you know if it'll separate out before you ruin the whole batch.
