This is just about the best potholder I've ever seen!  It looks very functional, easy to make, requires only the most fundamental sewing skills, and no prior knowledge of quilting.  (Although, quilters probably have everything you need already for this project.  Yeah, it's that old stash thing!)  As seems to be true of every craft project I talk about, this came through tipnut.com.

Very good tutorial is here: http://ansewon.blogspot.com/20…..lders.html

Anyone else have any good potholder ideas?  I seem to be feeling a need to make some!  Err, use up some fabric stash.  Errr, get some potential Christmas gifts made up.  Yeah, that's the one to use.  That's my story…    Cool

My husband is the chef of the family….I'll have to make him a set of these.  Thanks for posting Pete!

That's a wonderful tutorial, even something I think I could do……and say I quilted!  I keep forgetting quilting is on my list to learn………

I have two very similar to this in a heart pattern…of course, done with red cloth. I don't think that it would be that hard to convert it over to that shape. I have been looking for a pattern for these for a while. I am not fond of sewing, but my daughter loves it! Thank you! We will use this pattern and adjust it accordingly.

Figure you could make it in any shape you want!  Just use this same technique, and the same steps.
