I have really enjoyed Christmas this season.  The kitchen in my new house is inspiring me to bake.  I have a great island where I can cut fabric, make cookies, wrap presents, etc.  My tree is artificial and we've had it for years.  I gave away all my holiday stuff (dozens of giant tubs) to a young family when we moved.  I wanted to scale down and simplify.  All the ornaments on the tree are either handmade or bought on sale with a further discount for damage.  But, it looks great, one of my favorite trees ever.

Well, thanks again for responding.  I hope someone else pops in with a suggestions for those chicken stockings or they may get coal! Oops,  I just had an idea.  They love corn scraps.  Maybe I will buy a few ears and cut the kernels off and roast them in the oven until dry and put them in the stockings. Kinda do a twist on Suzanne's dried fruit.  Hummmmm.
