I have a bunch of Nickel beans saved from those I grew last year. These are heirlooms that I purchased from http://www.heirlooms.org/beans…..ickel.html (Really great heirloom site to check out, they have heirloom tomatoes too. Support their work and buy some beans! They have a lot of interesting varieties.)
This is a white half-runner bean originating from Morgan County, Kentucky. I found them to be very flavorful and they remain tender even as the small, white beans are developing in the pod. I didn't have a pressure canner last year, so I froze my crop and they came out great. They don't have to be cooked to death to be tender!
I'm pleased to share them, particularly with other people who will save seed from them and pass them along. If you want to save seed from them, be sure to give them isolation from other beans of the same species. There is some debate on this as to how much is enough, but I use 200 yards apart. These, however, were the only variety I grew last year, so I know the seed is pure.
Shoot me a PM and I'll give you my address to which you can send a SASE. I'll post here when they're all gone.

OfflineHi Journey11. I would love to have a packet of these beans. I love all beans, and half runners are my absolute favorite! I would especially like to try these since they originated in Morgan County, which adjoins Elliott County (where I live).
I'm not sure how to send PM's because I just now registered on the site. I'll try to figure it out and send you a message later today.

Offlinehello Journey11,
I am interested in some of your Nickel, Heirloom White Half Runner Beans, if they are still available. I have heirloom tomatoes to exchange if you would be interested. I air dry the seed on paper towels from my best tomatoes each summer. I have grown several different tomato heirlooms for over 35 years now. None of the ones I have, have been purchased recently from the catalog or company. These seeds have been handed down either through my family or neighboring families. I start my seeds under lights in March for June planting, with great success.
Hello everyone, I just wanted to let folks know that I've "gone Amish" (j/k) and I don't have internet at home anymore. I still check my email from time to time, so if you want any bean seeds, I do promise that I will eventually get back to you on that and apologize for the delay.
EasternKYDeb — Glad your package arrived safely. Hope you enjoy them! :)

OfflineThanks so much for the seeds, journey11! I can't wait to try them out! I will definitely try to keep them pure and pass them along as well, too. Thanks also for the cool link- that's a wonderful resource for heirloom seeds- I am very curious about those candyroasters! (and my yard now is too small for me to grow as many squash as I'm used to!)
Dee58m,
I am not sure the private messages I've sent you are going through. I didn't have any trouble with the ones I sent to other folks, but looking at them from my sent-box, the messages appear to be blank or missing half of what I typed. Let me know if you get the part with my address, ok!
I still have plenty of beans left.

OfflineI'm going to go ahead and close out on this one. I think I got them all out to everyone who sent me an envelope…
My newborn daughter is in the NICU for the next two weeks and I'll be pretty busy for a while. Had fun trading with all of you who responded. Enjoy the seeds!
