1. I have a few bags of cranberries in the freezer that I'd like to use. I already have some cranberry sauce done. Can I use store-bought frozen strawberries to make a cranberry/strawberry jam? Do I need to do anything special with them?

2. Can I use store-bought juice to make jelly? I saw an organic tart cherry-blueberry the other day that just screamed jelly to me :) I didn't think to check the ingredients until after I left though.

I have used cranberries in marmalade. Juices in the stores often contain added sweeteners and sometimes water. If you can get 100% juice with no added sugars you can probably use it as you would fresh.

I use frozen cranberries to make Strawberry/cranberry/peach jam all the time. No one complains. I used to use pure apple juice bought from the store to make apple jelly….but not since I got my steam juicer!

I prefer to use fresh strawberries rather than frozen to make jam but I have used frozen with good results.

I have used frozen grape juice to make grape jelly.  If I remember correctly one of the pectin's contain instruction on making jelly from frozen fruit juice (I think it might be Sure Jell brand).

I often make jam or jellies from frozen fruit or fruit juices that I freeze in the summer/fall to make through the winter when I have more time. Just be sure when you thaw your fruits that you drain them well. I save the juices that you have from the drained fruit to make syrup for ice cream or pancakes.  :) When I freeze grape juice, I freeze it in the amounts that will be called for per batch of jelly.
