Can I use a juicer to make tomato juice?

My husband just bought me a fancy-schmancy juicer which I use and love very much.  Can I use it to make tomato juice to can?  Can I just juice the tomatoes and then add a little lemon juice and pressure cook like I would making tomato juice the "normal" way?

Thanks for any help and advice!

I don't believe that tomato juice needs pressure canning if the acid is high enough.

What Ross said.

And, a caution that your canned results may or may not look like what you expect from a can of tomato juice bought commercially.  Most likely will not.  But the taste will be far superior.

What kind of juicer are we talking about?  We have several topics here about using steam juicers, for instance.

I've been putting up tomato juice for years now but I've always blanched and then used the food mill on the tomatoes then put them in the pressure canner.  I thought that the juicer may save a little time, energy and heat.

The juicer I'm using is the OKLife Juice Extractor.

Thanks again for the replies!

Ahhh, then you already know a whole lot more than I do about juicing!  (We aren't juice drinkers, so whatever we do end up with as a result of some other process usually becomes a soup base here.)

Please let us know how it works for you.  We always seem to want to share in everyone else's experiences!
