Saw this special from Lehman's come through Facebook. It's the best price I've seen for a stainless steel steam juicer. The price is good through this Friday 7/29. Even with the shipping, it's cheaper than Amazon's with free shipping.

OfflineMutter, mumble, it's all YOUR fault, Cindy.
Well, maybe Dede is more to blame.
But YOU are the enabler, Cindy!!
You just HAD to dangle that sale price out there, and now I will join you steam juicer people in however long it takes for it to arrive!
Mutter, mumble, kick the ground…

OfflineOnce again, foiled by my location….
What a great price! Went to the site to order it, woo hoo, 60 bucks plus shipping….
but wait! It's $110.00 to ship to Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For 110 dollars, I could almost fly to the store and pick it up (ok, an exaggeration, but not by much).
Does anyone know why it costs so flipping much to send it 30 miles further North? Like a thousand times more, in this case???
<sigh> rant over

OfflineDo I need a steam juicer AND a food strainer (like for my KA)? I am going to get serious and learn to can once I get to the US in October and can buy some supplies. What's the main thing you use the steam juicer for? I use a lot of tomatoes/tomato products. Pizza sauce, spaghetti sauce, tomatoes for soup, etc. I don't get a lot of fruit here and can't grow any. Jam is cheap and we don't use a lot so I just buy it.

OnlineWhooHoo!!! I've had muscadines in the freezer since last fall, I've been dreading trying to squeeze them (arthritis!!). As soon as the juicer arrives I'll be jelly making!! Oh no, then I'll have to make biscuits to eat with the jelly, and butter to go on the biscuits. Where will it end???
Oh yea, it'll all end up on my backside.

It's here! It's here!! It's here!!!
Not a lot of instruction came with it, though. But it is BEAUTIFUL!!! We're going to have juice and broth and jelly and, and, and…
I went on line and found an instruction/recipe booklet from another brand of steam juicer. Works great for mine.
I am still in love with my steam juicer after having it for a year!

OfflineThese enablers convinced me to buy one a few months ago. I have only had a chance to use it once because we recently moved. I LOVE it!!! My sister has a cherry tree and she always picks them too early to keep them from the birds. I juiced several pounds of cherries. I tried pitting and canning cherries once and no more pitting cherries for me. But with the juicer, it was so easy. I don't mind using up all those unripe cherries anymore :) If you enjoy canning, this is a wonderful tool!
