I came across a recipe for wild violet jelly. Has anyone made it or tried it? What does it taste like? We have tons of wild violets in the spring and I might be interested in making it.

I haven't made it but I think it sounds interesting. I like to make stuff like that for gifts. Special recipes like Lavender Jelly and Rose Hips Jelly and ,now, Violet Jelly are elegant and novel.  IMO. Great find!

Miss Judy: I agree, It would seem like something Runningtrails-Sheryl would be interested in/would write about, but I can't figure out how to track that down.  My memory tells me she might have written a blog post that mentioned Violet jelly among others . . .

Anyway here's the violet jelly.

I made this last spring as well. It was wonderful. I can't wait to make it again.
