Have you tried citronella oil, my Mom used it all of the time and it worked for her very well.

My neighbor says she uses Avon's Skin SO Soft and also if you grow fresh Basil, rub the exposed areas of your skin with a couple of the leaves. Hope this helps.

Someone told me that fresh lemon balm leaves work well too. Haven't tried it yet!

I usually wear a bug shirt which has an attached hood when the bugs are really biting bad. Here it is the black flies and mosquitoes that are the worst.

Remember, if it rains on your picnic it's also raining on your garden!

I use skin so soft near everyday. It works very well, I don't use it on my face and that is where the flies swarm. I will be trying the lemon balm.

Thank you

I use an essential oil mixed with coconut oil the essential oil is called purification which has Citronella, Lemongrass, Rosemary Cincol, Melaleuca, Lavandin, and Myrtle. It repells everything i am surrounded by state forest and when I take walks I always use this on exposing skin. i always mix it with coconut oil as a carrier. happy-flower
