Grape Hyacinth Bulbs

Our house is the only one on the block – either side is a vacant lot – one of which is loaded with grape hyacinths in the springtime.  I noticed when out raking leaves this morning that I have a bunch of volunteers coming up all over in the grass.  I don't believe these bloom except in the spring.

Question – I would like these – but not in my lawn.  Would this be the proper time to dig up the bulbs or should I just leave them be and move them in the fall?

Thanks to all of you smartern' me!

Yes Barb you can plant now where you want them to bloom in the spring.Usually propagated from the offsets, and when established you will get a lovely drift of blue to brighten your days-Good luck

I would dig up a lot from the vacant lot too., if the owner doesn't mind.

Barb, now is the time to plant bulb flowers, and I have a lot that were gathered along the wayside and of course from friends.

Don't cry because it's over—smile because it happened!
