We have crocus blooming!!  They seem to have jumped up over night and are BLOOMING!!!!!!

Been watching for them, and suddenly today they appear.  A few tulips are breaking ground as well, the daffodils, too.  And one lonely hyacinth is making an appearance.

Been saying for a while now that spring is coming, but today there is evidence that it really IS coming in, whether winter wants to let go or not.  Hurray!!     shimmy

Pete, You must live on the sunny side of the mountain. We just got the snow off the daffydils that are poking up through the ground.

We have daffodils ready to bloom in the bottom—the "old fashioned" kind.  Some around the old school/church foundation. Makes you think about who might have planted them ??  Suzanne's grandmother ? Her dad ???

Lots of other types of buds showing here, too——sun  shimmy

*Sigh*  I am jealous.  Only snow and more snow around here turtle.  It certainly has been a big year for it.  I can't wait to see me some signs of my own spring!

So, will you please enjoy the flowers for those of us who are still digging out… bomb

…and then they bought the goat! :D

52, I know what you mean about the old daffs – they are everywhere here in the Spring around every former house foundation, etc. and I always wonder the same – who planted those first ones?

On my maternal grandparents dairy farm (still have family there) there once was a man-made pond. Never had much water it in BUT there were thousands of daffodils there every Spring all the way around – so many that my Mom and I could come home w/ literally armloads to give to neighbors after the relatives there had cut all they wanted. Even as a kid I thought about who planted those first ones and how much pleasure they would have from knowing how many people enjoyed them. I need to ask my cousins there if the daffs still are plentiful. Gosh they were beautiful!

If common sense were truly common, wouldn't there be more evidence of it?

The only sign of spring here is the roof dripping the melting snow…meaning it's warmer than winter!

Would love to see a pic of that Pete! happy-flowerBoth wickedgoodshari and I could look at it with envy……{sigh}.

And I'd love to share some pics, but we seem to be locked out of photobucket here.  For the time being anyway…    hissy-fit

Eaves are dripping here today also CindyP….but we've been told by our weatherman   " watch out for tomorrow"…another storm headed our way. Running out of room to put it all when the driveway gets plowed out.

We had temp yesterday of 81 and sunny, sun today, high in the upper 70s but rain this pm.  Plumb trees, daffodills, yellowbells, breath of spring, camelias and much more blooming down south, but we may have more cold, it is still Feburary, but I'm loving it!!

I heard the peepers about 10 days ago–that is always my favorite night of the year–means winter is packing her bags.

No daffs up here, but I saw some at my Mom's this weekend.  She is down at a lower elevation, not far from the Mississippi, and her spring starts about a week earlier than ours up here in the Ozark highlands.

Snow geese flew over the by the thousands last weekend, my neighbor has been reporting on the love life of the eagles who have nested near his creek, and there is a little color in the willow branches.  Spring is coming.

I just haven't been the same since that house fell on my sister.

The farmers are complaining in my area…to warm, to soon!  But those are mostly the peach & pecan growers…their buds may get frozen with a late dip in the temps.  The row farmers are beating the band in the fields getting them ready cause they need to plant down here before the moisture dries out for germination…then we get HOT & DRY!

Lots of things blooming here including fruit trees, the early ones!

If I learned something today, the day wasn't a waste!

Oh I just wish. We did see some of the daffodil shoots in the yard coming up. Then the next day they were buried by another snowstorm. no Gotta love New England.

I had cardinals visit on Saturday and Sunday morning.  It was great seeing them.  It's melting here and we had a rain storm last night and it's warm again today so we are slowly getting rid of the snow.  Beautiful sunny day here today.  If this weather keeps up the buds on the trees will hopefully start to show up soon.

My lilacs are planted in front of a cement wall which warms up with the sunshine so they will be budding soon if we have a few more days of sunny weather.

Is it a sign of Spring that for the past two days my 6 girls have produced 6 eggs each day?  Through molting, cold weather and everything else, they have been laying and laying and laying!   They are such good girls that I gave them apples today.   happy-flower Yes, they were out playing in the rain…
