Don't bother clicking over to the recipe there (the recipe is 1/4 cup butter and 2 cans English peas, put in a pan and heat, THAT'S IT) — read the comments/reviews.  They are HILARIOUS!!!

Clover made me do it.

Sweet lordeee heaven … I have read page 4 through 12 of the comments and had to stop due to sheer weakness from laughing.  The cat on the table next to the laptop stomped off with ears back and kitty curses due to my outbursts of wild hooting … hubby demanded to know if I was having seizures … I now have damp underwear (who do I blame for this indignity?).

Wildly funny!  Although now that I've had a moment to overthink it, I would really truly like to know what the heck makes any pea an English pea.  Much less WHY, for mercy sake, would anyone want to use those nasty mushy things called canned peas.  It doesn't speak well for Paula Deen's POV on English cuisine … unless she herself was joking.  Let's hope so lest that FoodTV thread becomes an international incident.  God help us if it goes viral.  I wonder how fast we can help that along …….. <img class="sfsmiley" title="devil-with-tail" onclick="sfjLoadSmiley('devil-tail.gif', 'devil-with-tail', 'http://chickensintheroad.com/w…..eys/', 'devil-with-tail', '1');" src="/wp-content/forum-smileys/devil-tail.gif" alt="devil-with-tail" />

ROFL! Best part is that the comments started in 2007, then started up again last year. Too funny and kudos to Food Network for keeping it LOL.

Wow!  What a timely piece – been wondering what to do with that can of peas…

Let's see – for a single can of peas that would be a stick of butter, right?

Did the 'food network' actually post that recipe on their site as if it were some kind of actually valid recipe?

The comments were hilarious, I think some of the best ones were the ones where the commenters didn't get that so many of the other ones had become so totally tongue in cheek and chastised dear Paula all the more.  Then there were the defenders!  Oh my GOODNESS!!!!

I just sat and shook my head at the whole thing at first, then got into the spirit of the comments.  Too funny!
