Raisin Grandmother Bread is rising now. First time I've made the raisin. Hope it's good! I used part wheat flour, and part milk.

Remember, if it rains on your picnic it's also raining on your garden!

I just started a batch of cottage cheese rolls. Wonderfully simple recipe.

I believe that I may have posted the recipe in the last month or two. If not ask and I will post it today.

My cousin Jan gave me some rhubarb from her garden today so I made of batch of rhubarb muffins.  I used a blueberry muffin recipe but substituted the rhubarb for the blueberries and added walnuts and a touch of cinnamon.  Haven't tried one yet but they look and smell good so I hope they taste good.

I've got some whole wheat French bread in the oven right now; I make the regular whole wheat Grandmother Bread all the time, but this is my first time making the French bread version.  It's going to be used for Cuban sandwiches for dinner--YUM!

happy-flowerI have 2 pies in the oven, one is rhubarb and the other is a mixture of nectarines and peaches. I had 6 nectarines that needed to be used, but not enough for a pie, but had some canned sliced peaches in the fridge, so I mixed them together to make a nice size pie. Smells good.

Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

My boyfriend and I are going to be staffing a control point on the local 600k randonnee (non-competitive, long-distance bike ride), so I'm making cookies to have for the riders as they come through.  I made these for the ride last year, and they were quite a hit, so I'm doing them again; they're a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie that also has oats and chopped peanuts.  Good cycling fuel and the guys have to go a long way between places where they can get supplies, so the cookies, bananas, and water bottles we'll have will be appreciated.

I have 2 very freckled bananas so it's banana bread time.  Hmmm, think I'll take it out to Dad on Sunday.

My prince charming took a wrong turn, got lost, and is too stubborn to ask for directions.

Thanks, Flatlander!  They ate all the cookies and drank most of the drinks we brought, so I consider that a success; my boyfriend has informed me that the peanut butter chocolate chip cookies are now the official Randonnee Cookie.  ;)   And, last I heard, all 5 riders were making good time and feeling strong and 4 were still riding together, which is helpful for safety reasons when you're riding at night.

it is with great relief (it has been so long!) that I'm waiting for bread dough to rise and using up fruit I have laying around in a mess of a fruit cobbler, and a small blueberry pie in honor of my late father: it was his favorite.

Using up a lot of rhubarb. Victoria Sauce, and then rhubarb/strawberry jam. Then, will make a freeze plain old rhubarb sauce with Splenda for the diabetic.
