Dilled rye bread and banana/applesauce/blueberry muffins.

Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt and dance like you do when no one is watching.

Just took these out of the oven:  http://www.farmgirlfare.com/2010/06/recipe-quick-and-easy-raspberry-almond.html.  They're a favorite of ours; I halve the recipe and bake it in a square pan.  I use mostly whole wheat flour and throw in a half cup of oats to up the nutrition.  Tonight's batch had peach jam in the middle.

I had a craving for some dark chocolate brownies, and when that craving hits, nothing but a brownie will help me. Way to hot to light the oven, I remembered that little brownie machine that I received. I took out the box and read the directions, and decided to give it a try. Was I ever suprised, 2 dozen of delicious brownies in no time at all, and NO oven.

I am happy, happy, happy! happy-flower

I baked some sugar cookies.  Had the dough setting in the freezer taking up room so decided to bake it while defrosting and organizing the deep freezer.  That reminds me I really need to go put stuff back in there.

Making a lot of chocolate chip cookie dough to freeze, probably 4 batches. Then baking chocolate/chocolate chip muffins to take to the senior center tomorrow. After that, making jam and knitting on Christmas gifts (yes, I am one of THOSE people happy-flowerwho has my Christmas stuff finished and wrapped by 1 October).

Just pulled a crustless cheesecake with sweetened sour cream topping out of the oven. My hubster's very favorite. It is what he asks for every year for his birthday cake. It is not his birthday. He is just getting a special treat. hug

Joell, please tell us about this little brownie machine. Sounds great!

I am planning to bake tonight…. bread and banana walnut sheet cake. I decided I would wait until it cools down to at least 80 before I heat up the oven. I just couldn't bring myself to turn that oven on when the temperature was 100+.devil-with-fire

Made STH's recipe up there for the bars for breakfast…used cherry jam and no nuts.  Also baking bread, while the oven is on, and brownies.

Baking bread today, we have had to make do with store-bought bread since it has been so hot I didnt want to light the oven. I have been using all of those little machines that have been given to me for baking brownies, and bar deserts, I have to say they worked out very well. I was very impressed, usally those gagets are very over rated. Its a good thing, there is nothing worse, in my opinon than a store bought brownie, even in an emergency. happy-flower

I made whole wheat Grandmother Bread today; one loaf will go in the freezer, the other will be used for dinner tonight (bacon and avocado sandwiches) and breakfasts through the week.  Last night was granola bars for the boyfriend's 50-mile bike ride today.  He tends to stop at gas stations during these rides and load up on the haute cuisine there, so I like to send something with him that has at least some nutrition.  (Good thing I did--he had Texaco chicken strips and waffle fries for brunch!)

Joell, I'm glad you averted a brownie emergency and didn't have to heat up the house!  I had no idea there was such a thing as a brownie baker machine, but it sounds like a handy thing to have on hand for times like these.

Stay cool, everybody--a cozy 104 degrees here!

It isn't really baking, but I made a batch of chocolate covered butter brickle. Oh, yum. Now I have to hide it from myself so I don't eat the whole thing in one day. Two days maybe, but it is not cool to devour it all in one day. eating

Squeegee's Mom-- I'll consider it baking if you hide it from yourself in the oven. Could you provide a recipe for this?  And in addition, I'd love to know how you actually hide stuff from yourself because I've been notoriously unsuccessful in that regard.  "Oh, wow, look at this! All these Oatmeal Cookies I totally forgot about.smiley-puppy

Speaking of which, Oatmeal Raisin today.  Healthy! I'll probably throw about a 1/2 c of flaxseed meal in there too to up the health-o-meter to an even higher level…

Awww, chocolate butter brickle … whimper, yes, SqMom, please, a recipe?

And Murphala, LOL! … truly, cookies I totally forgot about. There's an epic fail to giggle over.  While chewing on the lost & found.  The Health-O-Meter has me giggling as well, considering such is the name of a hunky huge bathroom scale, a name that's outright quixotic.
