HiHo all,

My second loaf of Grandmother bread just came out of the oven hug.  Yesterday's was in a regular loaf pan.  Today's is in a longer "sandwich" sized loaf pan.  I weighed the ingredients for the regular loaf and added half-again as much for the sandwich sized pan.  Mmmmm.

ANYWAYS …

I have a question about fruit pies.  I cannot no longer digest blackberry & raspberry seeds no.  Has anyone used the juice of such fruit to make a lemon-merigune type berry pie?  If so, would you please share your successful secret?!

Many thanks in advance,

Maggins in Vermont

When I click on “print this recipe”, in Farm Bell Recipes, all that comes up is the directions. I don’t get the ingredients. I tried this with a few different recipes and always got the same thing. Is something wrong with FB? Hope not!
I use FB a lot and have a couple binders full of the printed recipes, and would like to have more if it will work right. Hopefully someone can fix this. Thanks.

Brookdale – just wanted to say that I am getting the same thing you are getting, but I have no answer as to why. So, folks with greater computer geek credentials than mine are looking into it. (Didn't want you thinking your request had gone unnoticed.)

Thank you, Pete, for the update. Glad to hear I'm not the only one that is having the problem…

I had a brief look, will have to come back later this evening to look some more.  I'm VERY cautious when in the back of the forums!!!  It's probably just an easy fix… for someone smarter than me!  ;)

Yay, it's working OK today! Thank you to whoever the mysterious moderator was who fixed it! It's so good to know that when we have problems, a real live person is behind the scenes to fix them.

Thanks again…happy-flower

Hello Elisa Clara!  I -think- you can add a little extra baking powder to a recipe in a lot of cases.  I'm going to ask a friend who is also Muslim and see what she does in cases like this, but I wanted to reply so you know your question was seen.  There are some web sites that suggest substitutions, but nothing is as good as someone else who's actually done this sort of thing!

For now I might suggest making a small batch of the Quick mix without it and see how it bakes up.  Also, a little acid when you use the mix, like lemon juice etc, because cream of tartar adds acid which helps the texture of baked goods.  I'm not sure, but I'll try to find out more.  Thanks for the question, it'll probably help others too.

Yes, you can leave the cream of tartar out!  It helps with rise but isn't absolutely necessary.

Clover made me do it.

Can I make the angel biscuits and freeze them before baking and then just take out and thaw as needed?

Hi EC; welcome to the forum.  Please explain the problem with the cream of tartar.  I might be able to help with recipes if I know what I am supposed to not do.

Thanks!  :)

Edgefield,  It's the byproduct of making wine I believe and so it's not allowed to be consumed.  I'm still waiting to hear from my friend, if I don't hear via e-mail in the next day or so, I'll telephone her.  Suzanne said that it's ok to skip it completely though.
