I've been wondering how folks here spend their New Year's Eve?  We don't go out.  What we do is go and buy a new movie the night before.  Then I make a fondue with all the trimmings and we watch the new movie and drink some Bubbley…not Champagne because that is out of our price range, but a nice Prosecco or Spanish Cava.

p.s.  We don't watch the ball drop because we don't have cable TV.

I have been known to sleep through New Yr's Eve.Until the phone starts ringing at midnight!  Yes, my son Wes(out party'in) will call to wish me "Happy New Year Mom!" Then I'll doze off and Amy,my daughter(also out party'in) calls! This year I'll probably be babysitting her baby New Years Eve.

We usually go to mil's house with lots of food.  The kids play cards with grandma and I go to sleep.

I usually fly down to Tampa and spend NYE with the girlfriends.  We do the inventory on a friend's store, then have dinner and party the rest of the evening.  She lives not far from Busch Gardens so we sit in her back yard and watch the fireworks from there.

Last year we had a run that took us thru Las Vegas on NYE. I was so excited to see the fireworks. We Parked the truck at the Palace Casino and went inside to wait till midnight. We heard them start and rushed for the door. Then my husband heard "a call to nature" if you know what I mean. By the time we got outside all we saw was SMOKE!

I am still a tad bitter over that one!

Haven't been "out" for New Years for at least 15 yrs….when kids were younger, we let them have friends over, made punch, cookies etc….we still have "finger" foods available for anyone that stops by….usually watch a movie….throw confetti and go to bed.  Maybe boring to some but we sure have fun…Happy Flower

That's what we did when the kids were younger too.  Nice family get togethers where the kids could play, we'd play cards and everyone would eat way tooo much food!  Even when the guys were deployed, the wives would do this.  It sure beat the club scene!

When my kids where little,we'd rent a rm in a nice hotel. So would other friends and family,so we had babysitters. The kids could go swim and watch movies. We had plenty of finger foods and snacks in the rm.Then we adults would go party and dance til midnight!
