Well, I canned cranberry-orange sauce and had orange peels left over. So, I made candied orange peels, now, I have the sugar syrup that tastes of orange left over. What can I do with that?

Add some orange juice and tequila and make an Ambassador?
I'm sorry, Sandra, the only thing I've ever used sugar syrup for is drinks. An Ambassador has orange juice so this is all I thought of!
I'm sure someone will come through with something for you!!!

Oh, what a lovely problem to have! How would it be on waffles? With a little orange rind grated on top?
Or save it to use the next time you can cranberries. Or to sweeten coffee or tea. Or add to a Christmas punch or mulled wine.
How much are we talking about? A couple of pints?

One thing led to another: the cranberries left me with peels and now the peels leave me with syrup. Yes, about 2 cups of syrup. I'm not sure how to store it. Maybe in a glass jar at room temperature?

It is so fragrant, if I didn't mind the stickiness, I would wear it as a perfume!!

Put it in a well sealed bottle/jar and it will store indefinitely in the refrigerator!

I keep a bottle of simple sugar in the fridge to use in iced tea. No sugary sediment on the bottom of a cold glass of tea, orange flavor would only be a plus! Maybe it's past time for iced tea, but as has been said, it will keep forever in the fridge.

Dehydrated orange peel yesterday for basically the same reason! Those I cut into really fine strips (after scraping away the pith with a spoon), to use in place of store bought orange peel. Then there are some orange peels of assorted shapes air drying to use in potpourri later.

I made the candied peel because I don't know how to dehydrate. Do you need special equipment for that?

I do have a dehydrtor, but one is not needed for everything, especially in the winter. You can dehydrate in the oven, on the countertop, even in the sun.
For the orange peel I am air drying, I just have them spread out on paper towels in saucers. The dry heat of the inside air is more than enough to prepare them for potpourri.
