Aren't these the cutest?!?!!?

I stumbled upon these in looking up ideas for crafts to make out of jars to start now for Christmas gifts. The blog post has good pictures showing different ways to make these, and even includes directions on freezing.  Thought these would be great to do up now for those of you with fruit coming on!

Liz, those are ADORABLE!  I love that idea.  (I took the pics out because I don't want them to come be mad at us for using their pic!  So everyone–click the link to see, they are really cute!)

That's fine Suzanne!  There's also custom made tags you can print for these pies-in-a-jar with cooking instructions to give as a gift!

Those are wide mouth half pints. Here is an east coast source:

These jars are also wonderful for canning boneless meat in small quantities. Just enough for a chicken salid for two or three people.

I'm going to try these – they look like fun.  My hubby has requested a chicken pot pie.  Seems like that would work – cook everything first. . . . . yummy!

Oh I hadn't thought of this!!!  I make chicken pot pie all the time!  And this would be great for my mom who's getting older and cooking less these days!  Thanks for the idea, prayingpup!!!

I just went & looked. I've used the little 4oz jars alot for canning give-aways.  I wonder if these would work too for these pies.  This size would be perfect for my mom who eats like a bird.

These are SUPER cute!  Thanks for sharing.  I've got some pie crust in the freezer and some apples in the fridge.  I may have to go make some little pies.chef

Here is another cute idea from i am baker.

I like the idea of one cake recipe and adding different flavors to the jars.

Oh, wow, those are adorable too!!  And I'd be like her, the jars would be a "half-serving" fork !!

Let us know how they turn out Sonia! I'm doing some this weekend, probably blueberry pies and chicken pot pies.
