Catray 44: I was so stunned I moved the mess onto the porch before I realized it's potential–watermelon sangria, watermelon margaritas, watermelon hootch…. (Onto the porch means ON to the porch were it dripped through the slats to the first floor porch, scared the Cr**p out of my sleeping dog,  and meant I had to haul several buckets' worth of water from the bathroom to flush the fermenting mess down towards the sewer trap out side the basement door) I'm not sure I want to recreate the bubbling brew for the FBR photo…but with my luck…..there'll be something else brewing without my knowledge in a week or two!

Ha Ha Ha!!!  I am so enjoying this.  At least it is not me this time, knock on wood.  If you get out of the kitchen, you will find that I have driven the riding mower over the garden water hose yet another time and dh had to hang mower in a tree to unwind the mess… and then I carefully cut all the stalks off the hollyhocks to save the seed and then LEFT IT ALL outside to get rained on…  but that is all outside.  Whew.  Sorry about the rabbit trailing. pink-rabbit

Let's see.  This week I have made glue from beautiful new potatoes – was supposed to be a heavenly mash to go with meatloaf and mushroom gravy.

My rye bread did not rise because I used 190 degree water thinking that was "warm".  Duh.  Made good flat bread though, I must say.

I brought what I thought was a bit of leftover macedonian feta to have with said flatbread and some garden tomatoes but accidentally brought a lump of fresh artisan cultured butter ROFL!

Well I knew the winds would turn south and get me with this! I attempted to make muskadine jelly 2 days ago, I have some great tasting muskadine syrup sitting in my jars.
Then I was so exhausted from staying up with my daughter I tried to make her eggs, how hard could that be?!?! I got everything started then nature called, went potty came back to my kitchen and most of my living room filled with smoke. I turned on the burner (electric) with the pan and butter in it. So we are enjoying a nice bowl of cereal out on the front porch while the house airs out. It is kind of cute to here my 3 year old hold her nose and say it stinks momma.
