Looking for a food processor and all the choices are mind boggling.  What do you use, what do you like or dislike about it.

I bought a Cuisinart food processor at a yard sale several years as I didn't want to pay full price for something I might not like.  I paid $10 for it.  Knowing what I know now, I'd willingly pay 10 times that much should mine break down.

It's the ideal object for making pesto.  I make lots of pesto in the summer and freeze it in ice cube trays, then dump the ice cube trays into a large ziploc bag.  The blender is useless for this, and doing it the old fashioned way with a mortar and pestle is a good way to go mad when you make pesto in the amounts that I do.

The food processor makes heavenly, flaky pie crust dough.   It takes the tedium out of making cheese pennies and cheese straws.   Salsa is a breeze to make with the food processor as is mayonnaise.  You can make smooth ham spread, chicken or turkey spread, and peanut butter.

The main drawback is that it's kind of a nuisance to wash but it's a nuisance I can tolerate.

I had the Cuisinart…and got rid of it for a KitchenAid.  I haven't regretted my switch.  Make sure that you get one large enough…the smaller ones generally aren't large enough…even for one person.  While you might not need the largest out there, don't buy the smallest.

It happens to the best of us, Shells.    Hug

Don't feel bad, honey.  If I had a nickle for everytime I forgot that I'd asked something, I'd have a huge pile of nickles!

I think Shelly is one of the babies!

There are only two ways to live your life: one is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.
