I decided to try it with goat's milk just to see how it would turn out.  I didn't have rennet tablets so I decided to increase the dry milk to 1 cup since that's what helps it thicken with cow's milk.  It turned out GREAT!  I was so excited when I removed the lid and stirred it after 6 hours.  It was nice and thick.  I refrigerated it to get cold then tried it with some of my strawberry jam and it is so good!!

No more store bought yogurt around here!  I can't wait to try it with some of my other jams and jellies I've made!

Thank you so much for all your awesome ideas and recipes!

We love our homemade yogurt! We haven't bought yogurt in years. You can use a little bit of the previous batch to "seed" it but will have to start over after about 4-5 batches as it weakens. I just buy a small, plain unsweetened yogurt at the grocery store and use that to "seed" a new batch. Works great and is a lot more convenient than buying actual "yogurt starter".

We always condense our milk for yogurt making with powdered milk too. Works well with any kind of milk, I guess. Our yogurt is very solid, even thicker than store bought. For my 2 litre starter bucket I will add a cup of powdered milk.

That's great to hear and I'm especially glad to hear your experience with goat's milk and that you can use more dried milk instead to help it thicken!  I'll keep that in mind for when I ever have some goat milk again.
