Look who's on the Home page of Oliverio's Peppers?  They make the peppers used in /blog/2009/06/14/pie-with-beef-italian-peppers/

That is so great!  It's always fun to see others who recognize what a great place this is.

Thanks!  I'm excited that they know who I am, LOL!  (And I love their peppers!)

I also just found out I'm mentioned and quoted (from one of my Daily Mail columns) in the January 2010 Market Bulletin in the column of Gus Douglass, WV agriculture commissioner!

Woohoo! Hey Suzanne and it's only 9 days into 2010 and lookee! It IS your year, dear Yes

I rcvd the Market Bulletin in email 2 days ago, went straight to the recipe page, printed it for a coworker (because of the boneless Buffalo Wing thing), and closed it Hissy Fit

LOOK what I missed! Arggggh!

As an aside, anyone can subscribe to the WV Market Bulletin by emailing this address

[email protected] <[email protected]>

It's an interesting monthly publication (even for me, who hasn't lived "out" for 15 years).

There are recipes, animals for sale, seeds for sale, properties for sale etc. from readers as well as articles pertinent to those farming on any scale.

I love reading the Market Bulletin!  I hadn't opened this one yet and just did.  It would have been a HUGE surprise if I hadn't already found that from my website stats, LOL.

I used to get the MB in the mail - the Cheese Onions recipe I posted in Just Recipes is from one about 25 years ago! Since it's gone 'electronic' it's great - IF I would remember to print it and bring it home where I would read it all! LOL

Well, your Daily Farm Photo has made me realize that THIS IS THE DAY!

I have pepperoni, cheese, yeast, flour, garlic, eggs (boy oh BOY do I have eggs!) …the only thing I DON't have is actual Oliverio peppers, (SORRY Oliverio!) so I'll have to use my own peppers.  No, not from my own garden, I live in the woods, peppers don't like to grow in the woods… I buy them from a market stand up the way a bit.  The people know me and give me a good price on a bushel or a half bushel at a time, I sell them eggs for a good price… it's win-win.

I'm going to go here to the Oliverio Peppers web site, and order a case of their peppers  because I think they will be totally necessary for my foray into a meat pie adventure.  I know Suzanne gave us ways to make the sauce without them, but I'll just feel better getting the right stuff for that recipe.  Besides, I'm a sucker for 'old family recipes' and busineses that are still run by the family and still care about their products.
