OfflineIt works! I tried it and I have had some romaine lettuce sitting in my fridge for over a week now with no rust! I also saw that some people were making the whole salad in the jar, including dressing, and it was keeping for 5 days. I haven't tried this yet, it is next on my list of wicked science experiments
One thing is you put the dressing on the bottom of the jar, then the toppings and you put the lettuce on top. The lettuce should not touch the dressing. Then, when you are ready to eat, you just shake the jar. How easy is that!
