I always wanted Boston Creme Pie for my birthday, and my mom always made it from scratch. Even now, a coworker always makes it for me on my birthday!Chef

Almost any cake that I didn't try to bake, one exception-- I will not eat a grocery store cake.  As much as I love sweets, I just don't want one from the grocery store bakery.

Pound cake,no icing. In the summer it's nice to have a cold vanilla sauce over it tho.

Life is too important to be taken too seriously.

I like just about any kind of cake, and because my birthday is around Thanksgiving I have had pumpkin pie several times.  My current favorite that my mom has made the last couple of years is that strawberry pretzel dessert stuff--yummy!!!

I love, LOVE all baked cheesecake, Fork but one cake that I requested for my 16th birthday and my sister made especially for me, was a hot-fudge sauced chocolate & ice cream cake.

The restaurant that I first had it at made it by making a generous rectangle layer of chocolate cake with a rectangle of vanilla ice cream, topped with another layer of chocolate cake. Then they froze these together. They would take it out and microwave it a bit to soften the cake, then top it with a generous helping of the most thick, tasty warm fudge sauce, and then top it with whipped cream (fake of course), and a cherry. Of course, being on a farm, we had to make it better! It took a bit to find a fudge sauce recipe that equalled what they served, but where we had them beat was with the real cream. The cake slice that they sold was supposedly enough for 2, but I think that it could have easily fed more than that. Needless to say, it was a very good cake! I dare you Poke to make one! You would not be sorry.

I used to make something similar for my kids. It was a layer of ice cream sandwiches, a layer of hot fudge sauce, a layer of whipped  cream and then repeat the above process. Of course it had to be topped with more whipped cream and hot fudge sauce poured over the top.

Yum--I've had that before but we also added some smashed up Heath Bar toffee pieces to both the middle and top layers.

Every year since I was 12 or so....SPICE CAKE!!  Yummmmmmmmmmmmmm.  No frosting though...Just fresh whipped cream to slather the top with.  My family loves me because there's never any question as to what kind of birthday cake I want.  :D

MMMMmmmmm! Hot Fudge Ice Cream cake. Wish I'd heard of that before we dropped a bundle on an Oreo ice cream cake for our daughter last week on her birthday and another bundle for an ice cream cake for our son's girlfriend's birthday, yesterday. The one made with ice cream sandwiches sounds good, too.

I agree with Mrs. Fuzz though, a spice cake is my favorite. A spice anything is my favorite, ginger cookies, spice tea, spice jelly beans, YUM!

Progress might have been all right once, but it has gone on too long.  Ogden Nash
