Mmmmmm   Roast turkey……"drool"  LOL

Today for breakfast we had fresh sausage from our hogs and apple coffee cake.

Left overs for lunch, and for supper we had BBQ ribs (hogs), homemade potatoe chips, and frozen corn from the garden.  Of course, we also have the choice of if we want left over apple coffee cake.

We went to the pumpkin patch today, and they had an icecream machine (actually 2 of them) hooked up to a John Deere motor.  It was pretty neat, so we also had some homemade butterscotch toffee icecream. ;)

I fixed a roulade tonight with fresh pork and Russian sausage for the filling: http://www.wedlinydomowe.com/s…..hot-smoked

You must stop when you get to the part about stuffing and just keep the sausage loose.

This is the assembly ; http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k482/nansssor/2011_1002cardoldcameranew0002.jpg

Next I roll and tie it; http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k482/nansssor/2011_1002cardoldcameranew0003.jpg

Seasoned with salt, coursely ground pepper and Italian herbs: http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k482/nansssor/2011_1002cardoldcameranew0004.jpg

Fresh from the oven: http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k482/nansssor/2011_1002cardoldcameranew0005.jpg

And table ready. 1 1/2 pounds purchased at 1.59 per pound as pork shoulder butts. http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k482/nansssor/2011_1002cardoldcameranew0006.jpg

Have you ever considered the similarity between potato soup and chowder? It is a whole family of good soups . Milk based of course.

Ross, your roulade looks heavenly.  I'm glad you posted the link for the recipe.

I agree with JoJo that we need a map to Ross's house.  Cook lots Ross 'cuz we are coming to dinner!
