No cooking for me tonight, it is our anniversary  #30  and we are having dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant in the city. I am so lucky to have been married to such a wonderful Husband for all these years.

So true Ross. There is nothing like recalling something 30-40 years ago and having someone else remembering it too…………..because they were there.

Pot pie has so much to offer. Change the fat used in the crust and you have a completely different pie even when everything else is kept the same.

With the game on, I am just making simple foods today. BBQ chicken wings, baked sweet potatoes, blueberry chutney over cream cheese with favorite snacking crackers, sundried tomato hummus with bluecorn chips, large mixed greens salad with portobella mushrooms, sweet red pepper, leek, olives, artichoke, oven roasted garden beets, homemade ranch dressing.

Both teams are good… no favorites this year.  snuggle

Yesterday for the game we had meatballs, philly cheesesteak sandwiches, veggies with ranch, pulled pork sandwiches, lemon cake, deviled eggs, and french bread topped with an italian seasoned mayo and cucumbers. I'm pretty sure tonight we are just EATING THE LEFTOVERS!

Who the heck knows.  I'm still at work and it looks like I'll be here for at least a few more hours.  Maybe I can head over to stacylee's and help her eat the leftovers.  Sounded yummy!

I agree with both of you but…after 40 yrs DH doesn't always remember it the way I do…and of course I remember it the way it really was!

For supper tonight I am having chicken and steamed veggies…he's having chili. I had him pick up a rotissorie chicken from the deli…someone forgot they had made a pot of chili so she wouldn't have to cook tonight. She is not admitting to that so … She gave him a choice just to let him think it was planned that way all along.laugh

Ross and JoJo, DH and I have been together 30 years, married for 17, still happy! Our closest friends have been married for almost 55 years and still happy too. I guess we got lucky!

Tonight it's sloppy joes, although the first course of them has already been consumed.  A neighbor is dropping by a store roasted chicken in a bit.  This was dental day – including one extraction.  (Not mine!)  So, it was soup earlier, from our favorite produce seller, who also does some salads and soups on the side.

I guess I am still stuck in "easy mode".. after all the super bowl eats yesterday, needed something lighter tonight, just did some homemade creamy tomato bacon soup with last summers stewed tomatoes. Baked up some gluten free dinenr rolls to go with..beverage of choice tonight.. Chardonnay. snuggle
