Baked a 4# pork roast with mashed potatoes and a green bean and tomato salad.  I have a feeling it is going to change into a few different dishes before it is gone!

Where are we going and why are we in a handbasket?

Okay, now we're talkin Odell! Will you be my new best friend?  helloI undertand the health movement but I gotta tell ya it's too late for me. Monsanto started wrecking my food over 20 years ago and I'm not cooking for school aged children. Whut times dinner, and whut you puttin on that tater?!   hungry

yummmm these are all favorites.. never thought of putting French bread in the skillet to sear though, will have to remember that Odell.. sounds delish..

I was trying to think of something different to do with my chicken breasts..had a taste for pesto, so I thawed some garden pesto and patted it thickly on my chicken breasts that I baked, brussells sprouts steamed, oven roasted garden beets and garlic seared kale.. yes

Tonight we had crockpot Chicken Cacciatore with plenty of carrots & peppers over whole grain penne … plenty of leftovers will likely become a pasta casserole tomorrow layered with cheeses and cooked greens.  Love greens in tomato-based sauce!

I have quite a few butternut squash in the cellar yet…. making Butternut Bisque soup w/sweet corn in it. We'll have the soup with Green-Onion Cream Cheese Biscuits. This is one of our favorite biscuits.  snuggle

Steak sandwiches. On local Italian bread, with peppers in sauce, cheese and grilled on both sides. Tomorrow I think is potato soup. It's

Homemade beef stew and cornbread made with stoneground cornmeal.  Just stew and bread because I couldn't think of "side" to go with it.  And we were too full to even think about dessert.

Because of unpleasant medical issues I am now on a gluten free "diet". Tonight is a lg. quinoa salad with quinoa, sliced olives, diced green peppers, green onions, FF Italian dressing. Very filling, controlled amount of carbs, looks nice, and tastes good.

The only thing I really miss is real, chewy, old fashioned artisan bread. But working on a recipe using non wheat flours. I see one of you cooks gluten free also. I am new to this, but the lack of sharp pain is worth it.

I am a survivor!
