OfflineWilliam Shatner (yes, THAT William Shatner) loves deep-fried turkey, but over many Thanksgivings and Christmases he's made mistakes, burned himself, and nearly burned down his house. In this dramatic retelling, Mr. Shatner shows us how dangerous turkey fryers can be.

OfflineMy son is supposed to be frying a turkey for his co-workers today. I hope they are careful! He's the son who caught our house on fire( just the vinyl siding) a couple of years ago fixing ribs for Thanksgiving.
Thanks Bonita…just said a prayer for all of those…"I know how to do this" country boys out there!

OfflineOur friends started their house on fire too. They had the fry deal on the deck by some overhanging pine trees. The trees caught fire, then the deck, then the house. The fire department came in time to save the house but it surely was not the way our friends wanted to spend time on Thanksgiving. BE CAREFUL!!!

OfflineFried turkeys are tasty and leave the oven free for other baking, but……
My dad would deep fry the turkey (and anyone else's who brought it over) but we would cringe while he was doing it! He would be in the garage (which was under the house!) AND to make things a little more "daring" he laid a piece of old carpet down so the splattering oil wouldn't stain the concrete! I believe in Guardian Angels and his worked on holidays!
