Yes, I know I'm crazy to even be thinking of hatching in the winter, but I need to make sure my ol' girls are replaced late spring/early summer.  My egg sales pays for their feed plus some of the other animals that we have.  Now to my question…… does anyone have any purebred Orpington, Sussex, Wyondotte, White Leghorn, or Deleware fertile eggs that you would sell me for a small fee?  I know "mutts" lay just the same as purebreds….but I want to play around with a few breeds.  I had 15 baby chicks going into fall.  I had them in a building with heat and such.  One day I "cracked" the door a bit and one of my roosters killed every one of them.  I'd never seen such a thing.  Needless to say…….he's in my freezer….lol  warrior

I don't think you're crazy at all!  If you have a (normally) safe and warm place to hatch and raise them, (other than my basement which really hasn't recovered from the last batch of chicks I raised there) I think it's awesome!

I've begun to look at my coop to figure out if putting a shed roof addition on the one side is a practical idea.

Anyway, backyardchickens.com has a buy, sell, auction section…  backyardchickens has gotten to be a huge size now and is terribly difficult to navigate, so after a while, I quit going there very much.  Still there's a LOT of good info there, it's just tiresome to get around there now.

So, here's a link to the 'hatching eggs' section of the buy/sell section, you'll be able to browse around from there.
