Hi there all you khaki campbell pros, I just brought home a trio (drake and two hens) of khaki campbells, in the dark, and I have no idea if they are going to fly away tomorrow.  Or if they need their wings clipped.  Or if they're going to flip out because they had a lake at the old place and I don't.  I should have done my homework, but I didn't, so now I have only you to fall back on.  Oh, and another question…how do I get my dumb newbie self into these things???  laugh

Not a pro, but I don't think they'll mind not having a pond, though they'll need a basin or perhaps a large dishpan or whatnot of water because all ducks love to dip their feed in water for eating.  Horribly messy of course, but that' s ducks for you!  Messy!

I also don't think they're great fliers!  As with any new poultry, I'd keep them inside their house for a day or three.

Ducks are such fun to have around. Congratulations!

If you clip their wings just clip one. They can compensate if you clip both.

Thanks for the suggestions!  I did let them out this morning because they were mercilessly beating up on some other (baby) chickens due to the close quarters of the coop.  They did fine, never flew, and even played in the kiddie pools with the goose.  They are so adorable; I'm sure they couldn't be any trouble.  RIGHT??  Haha.  The only other duck I've ever had was a mallard and boy could he fly.  In fact, he flew right away when I forgot to clip one wing after a moult.  I like the campbells much, much better already!  happy-flower
