Karen, thank you again for sharing your farm with me.  I have sat here and enjoyed it so much.  You are a great photographer!

What happened to Tucker that he got sick?

What kind of chicken is Eustatio?

Is Charile still strong willed?

I am glad that you liked the pictures.

Eustatio is supposed to be a Araucana, but I hear that the true breed is very hard to come by even if they say it is, so at the least he is an Easter Egger, I have about 4 hens to match him.

Tucker got sick (blackhead), we had him quarantined and medicated, but he didn't make it. We ate one of our other males and now just have T-Bone left with 6 hens. (Eustatio is my husband's business partners middle name and his first name is Tony, but my husband calls him T-bone, so I named the birds after him to kind of bother him).

Charlie is a good girl, but can be demanding. She is kind of the black sheep of the cows. She came with Yo end of August, but Yo didn't want her, so I had to learn how to bottle feed her it was a very stressful 3 days of trying to get her to take the bottle, now she demands it. I still feed her a bottle. None of the other cows really care for her. Lucy our Red Angus hates her with a passion, but BJ her calf who is about the same age as Charlie is her buddy. Maggie who we got in November is a very gentile cow and is very good to Charlie also. Charlie comes when she is called but needs work on "Git".

Each animal has it's own personality so no wonder they dont all get along, much like people.  hee hee lips-are-sealed

Charlie must think of you as her mom.  I know she is beautiful.

Now tell me what is the right thing to do when you have an angry rooster on your heels?  When I was young, there was a turkey that hated my oldest brother.  Well one morning my brother had enough and killed the animal.  Years later he told my dad that is what happened to that ole bird and my dad acted shocked, but I always suspected my dad knew.  He was a kind, gentle, smart man!  lol

No sense killing him if you aren't going to eat him.

On another forum I frequent they say, "Why put up with a bad rooster when there are so many nice ones, send him to freezer camp."

I agree with that statement, especially now that I have so many chickens. I have 36 babies in various places and about 10 young ones till now old enough to lay yet. I can't keep all the roosters, so will have to pick and choose.

Yeah, but we were kids, so my brother didnt think of him as food.  I agree with you though!
