Anyone use these?  Your thoughts/recommendations?

PS:  You don't have to buy as many water bowls – you can just buy what you want.  The video just shows how to set up a number of bowls in progression.

That is interesting.

We use a hanging pail (fitted with lid) with special, inexpensive nipples mounted on the bottom and siliconed to seal. It works well and is way less expensive than this would be. What I like about it is that we don't need to fill it all the time, and the biggest bonus of all, it STAYS clean! I think that that would still be my preferred method. I hate touching chicken poop if I don't have to.

I've seen the nipples and considered using that system.

-How hard is it to train the birds to use the nipples?  (How long does it take for them to figure them out going from a regular drinker?

-If I drop a livestock water heating element into the bucket, would it keep the nipples from freezing in the winter?

We used to have a gallon jar with an attached water bowl. You would fill the jar screw on the bowl, up end the jar and the bowl would fill to the rim of the jar stop the air flow and just wait for the chickens to drink the water down below the rim to let in a new bubble.
