we have a month old free range chick that has something red and about as big around as a half dollar hanging out of its rear end my daughter noticed it as we were getting ready to go to church this evening and i didnt have time to check it out i have never seen anything like this before and was wondering if any of you had any idea what is wrong and how to help it thanks!!!

It sounds like possibly a prolapse… for a bird this young to have a prolapse I think is pretty rare. But anything is possible, if that's what it is, what I would do is to rinse with stream of warm water, and put Preparation H on it, which should help the swelling, and push it back in. You'll have to keep it confined till you find out if the situation remedies itself, which it may. If you leave her with other birds they'll likely peck her, and she'll get infected and it could be a long slow decline for her.
Her having this so young could just be a fluke from which she'll recover very quickly, or it could be an issue that is going to follow her into her egg laying years.
If it looks like there's blood or open wounds already, you could start her on oral antibiotics you can get from most feed stores, make sure they are safe for chickens and follow directions on the label.
If it's not a prolapse, I'm not sure what else it might be.
