ONLY MEMBERS OUT OF THE MODERATED POST STATUS CAN UPLOAD AVATARS!

Since the last update, there have been issues with gravatars, so the only available option right now for you to have a pic by your profile is an avatar.

The avatar can be uploaded from your computer OR from an online photo sharing site (e.g. photobucket).

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE resize your picture on your harddrive before attempting to upload to the site.

• THE SYSTEM WORKS with GIF, PNG, JPG and JPEG
• Maximum width displayed: 50 pixels
• Maximum filesize: 10240 bytes

There are many programs available for doing this.  I use Photoshop.  Almost every Windows computer has PAINT.  All Programs > Accessories > Paint.

1)  File>Open to select your image to resize

2)  Image > Attributes.  Make sure "pixels" is selected.  Note down the numbers in width & height.

3)  Image > Stretch/Skew.  In the Stretch, put the % that will get you down to around 50 pixels.  Do this for both width and height.  If you have a large pic, you are going to use a very low number.  I had to use 2% to get mine down.

4)  Now recheck the reduced size of the picture image in Image > Attributes.  If the pixels are not low enough, go up to Edit > Undo.  This will bring you back to your original picture size.  Go through the steps again to adjust.

5)  When you have reached the desired size, File > Save As and rename your smaller pic!

6)  Upload to your profile!

1)  Open the website

2) Choose file from your computer

3)  Make sure Avatar Size is set to "50″

4)  Click Resize — it's done!

5)  Right click on whichever resized photo you would like to use (it gave me 3 options!) and save it back to your computer.

6)  Click on your profile and upload avatar.  If you're using a photo from online, just put the http:// of the photo in the space.

The system can only handle .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png files!

After uploading, there will be a message "upload complete"

Click the button "Update profile"

Refresh your page.  Your avatar should show in your profile immediately.  And every comment you've ever made to the forum will have your new avatar!

OK, here's the next batch.  I was going to add them all into one post, but decided to leave them in groups. 

With this latest update, now there is an avatar issue……they have it fixed, but it's on another update to be released later……………..

Soooooo….

Your avatar image cannot have spaces in the name.  If it does, simply rename it before uploading.  Right click on the image, click rename and take the spaces out.

Also, it cannot be more than 10240 bytes (10.0 KB).

I used http://www.shrinkpictures.com/…..resize.php to resize a very large pic off of my harddrive and it reduced it to 50 pixels wide and 2.0KB very easily!

You actually can't put up an avatar until you're out of moderated comments….but you're good to go now. Go up to Profile, there's a section in there for it.

When your comment is automatically on the board and it no longer says Post Waiting Moderation… or something like that.
