Hey Suzanne,.. since you asked hehe..
Is there any way to add a "View first unread" to each thread? Like if I wanted to see all posts in the introduction thread since the last time I viewed it. Most other forums I visit and work on have this, and it makes navigating threads I frequent a lot so much easier. I don't have to start at the end and look backwards for the last thing I saw. I wasn't sure if there's a setting to just turn on to have that or if it's even available, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask. (Our employee forums at work don't have it and we keep asking them to add it but they still haven't, so I guess it might not be avail on all forums programs. )

Patty, I'm hoping some bugs will be fixed in the upgrade this weekend. If you're still having trouble after the upgrade, let me know and I'll go ask at the program's forum and see if I can find a better way for you!
I'll post when the upgrade has been completed.

Though–it's worth adding–IE is a *terrible* browser. I use IE quite a bit out of laziness because AOL offers up IE, so when I'm in my email, I tend to just lazily use IE. I have trouble with IE frequently on EVERY website I ever visit. I'm using IE this morning and not having trouble here, but that's because IE trouble with every website I ever visit is random. My best advice, always, is to download Firefox, which is a MUCH better browser for every place you go on the web.

I use IE browser at home and work and have not had problems with it. We have Fibernet internet service at work and it sometimes causes us problems. Fibernet was down on and off this morning but is back up and running now. We have Firefox browser installed on our computer at home and whenever I have tried to use it I have trouble after being on the internet for a while. It may be the combination of internet service and browser. I have suddenlink internet at home and they suggest using IE. My husband uses wirefire internet service for work and they suggest Firefox. You may check to see what browser your internet service suggests.

By the way, one of the things that's new is that I'm now cross-referencing to make the cookbook more functional, as well as separating it out to section pages. I'm not completely finished cross-referencing, so I'll be continuing to work on that over the next several days as well as finishing getting the June recipes in.

I didn't see it, but if there is any extra formatting in a post, it can sometimes throw the forum out. If you're copy/pasting from Word, the best thing to do is highlight the text before you copy it then clear formatting on it and that usually works. Then you can paste it in with no problem.

Try not refreshing the page before reading everything in the drop down. I find if I refresh before I've read everything, sometimes they get marked as read…….that was even happening with the separate box.
The update was needed for other technical issues, though……..we can bear through it till they have all glitches fixed.
Did you guys see the print button on each post up in the toolbar?!?!?! That is so nice for printing the recipes now!!! No more copy/paste……..one line at a time!!! Yay!!!

Is there any way to make certain parts of our profile, like our email address, invisible?

Oh, I forgot this – I have been trying to change my website address in my profile from chickypez.blogspot.com to chickypez.wordpress.com and it keeps saying the profile has been updated, but it's not changing!

Isn't the e-mail address already invis to anyone but the admins? I can't see it if it's there and I'm a mod. lemme go look around for you, I'm not sure who all else is around to try to help you, but I'll do my best
I would send Suzanne a PM about the web page addx, I tried to fix that for you too and can't so it takes more power than I have. She'd probably like to know that there's some kind of trouble with it so she can get with the forum host people.
I'm really sorry I can't help more, and also that since it's a busy weekend it may take some time to fix, but we'll do our best!

Best answer I've got is that the address is NOT visible to the public, but it is to you when you view your own profile. You choose whether to have it public or not. There are check boxes in the profile to take that action.
Meanwhile, you should edit them out those email addresses as soon as you are comfortable doing so. (These posts are, after all, viewable. No sense in trying to hide your address, and then putting out here in the public!)

Heather, don't worry, other people can't see your email address!
I'll PM you about the other! I can fix it for you.

I'm sorry Chickenmixer, but when a member is in post moderation, their avatars cannot be changed. Enjoy the forum! It takes comments and posts to get out of moderation………….. ;)

It's not set up to do that since the crash. Steve says I need to buy something to put my pictures on first.Going to have him do that when my tax refund is available. If it's already in photobucket I can post it,or do it all from his computer.
