I'm in Oklahoma currently. Have been here ALL my life (with the exception of about 9 months in DC when I was 4 – does that even count???) We are currently looking at the possibility of moving to WV is hubby gets the job he has applied for.

I have lived in Michigan my whole life. I was born in the Lower Peninsula, we moved to the Upper Peninsula when I was 1, lived there until I graduated from high school, moved back down under to go to college, and have stayed here. Actually the UP and the LP are like 2 different states. When you cross the Mackinac Bridge, it's like you're entering another country even. I would love to move back, but with the Michigan economy, the UP is worse than it is down here……. I can continue to dream……

Crossing the US on I-80, you'll find yourself crossing the Mississippi at Davenport, Iowa, one of what is know as the "Quad Cities." Located on the border of Iowa and Illinois. It's the only place where the Mississippi river runs east and west.World headquarters of John Deere,Maid Rites, Isabel Bloom and yes surrounded by cornfields and hogs and floodwater!

Hi I'm Joanna,
I'm from London but moved to New Zealand around three months ago after my grandfather died and left me his cottage and fifteen acres. I was born and raised in London and have been a city girl through and through up till now.I guess I could have told my lawyer to put it on the market but I couldn't resist taiking a look. Once I'd made my mind up to go I thought I'd have a go at living there rather than just take a peek So that's what I've done. I started a blog to keep as a record because each day brings a new challenge in one shape or another. Working out a routine so different from the one I'm used to that throws me for a start. I've rounded up all the escapee chickens that got out when a tree fell through the coop. I've got a cat who is very independant, thank goodness, two rats that are ( I never ever ever thought I would say it) ….adorable!! and Molly the pig who I love to pieces and she follows me everywhere… I have girlfriends at home who must be laughing their heads off at me…. who cares. I'm loving it at the moment and if things start getting out of hand I'll do something about it at the time. I see no reason to worry. There are no wild animals in New Zealand so that's not an issue. I'm having my work cut out with the chickens though, never had any before, but I'll get there.
So nice to meet you all and read about your homes.
Joanna

Hi Everybody I love this site. I am from Waikato New Zealand. Joanna I love your blog, the south Island is a fantastic place. I have quite a few chickens I keep falling in love with different breeds so I HAVE to have them too. I have Silver Laced Wyandottes, Orpingtons blue and black, Barnevelders and Barred Rock and I am looking at getting some Andalusian. We have a very old (18yrs) toothless goat called Polo my son had her for calf club day at the school many years ago and she is still here eating (maybe sucking) my plants. We have 3 dogs one retired sheep dog, one rescued spca dog and a little terrier cross.

I am in sunny ol' California. I know sunshine is nice but I would so like to actually be able to experience a little bit of the seasons. When you see the every freakin' day it can get kinda boring, ya know? I guess I just have a stormy personality and don't fit in too well around here.

Hi, from Vancouver Island on the West coast of British Columbia. Beautiful place and I love living here. I did live on a tall-ship (3 masted barquentine) for 6 months and sailed around the 1/2 the world … I can teach you a lot of the sailing lingo (keeping it clean of course)

I grew up in Grand Forks, ND – I miss the people there, but I don't miss the long, cold winters. I've lived in various places in Idaho since 1985. Right now I'm living in a small town about 100 miles east of Boise and I'm very happy to be here…

I'm from a town in the most Southwest area on Arizona. So seeing all the beautiful pictures of those tall green things, I think they call them trees and the soft green stuff they call grass is wonderful. If I could move it would be to an area that is green.
Our summers average 105 and thats on the cool side. But as they say "its a dry heat" , So is an oven.
Glad to be a part of this wonderful group.

Hi, I'm new. I live in Marietta, OH which is in SE Ohio. I see some of the earlier posters on this thread are familiar with Vienna, WV – my daughter insists we shop there – I HATE malls. I grew up in Western PA (New Castle, waving to member from Edinboro) and have lived in Marietta for the last 25 years. I probably will never own a real live farm, but am simplifying my life as much as I can where I am. I'm going for the farm lifestyle without the manure. Although I work outside the home full time, I try to keep our life simple – no TV, as much "home-cookin" as possible and I'm dabblin' in canning and baking. My itty bitty garden was a big honkin failure this year, but it's a basis from which I can only improve. It's so nice to see so many people here from near AND far!
