I live in westcentral Missouri in a small town close to Whiteman AFB about 60 miles east of Kansas City. Moved here when I married many, many moons ago!

I was born and raised in Southeastern Ohio. Morgan county, between Marietta and Zanesville. When I was just a little tyke we lived in WVa for about 7 or 8 months. Guess what my folks did there? Raised broiler chickens!

It was a very weird situation. We lived in an old three story hotel on the bottom floor… the chickens lived….ON THE Third FLOOR! There were thousands of them! This arrangement didn't last long. My folks weren't used to chickens being confined and Dad said he hated taking chicken feed up two flights of stairs. Can you imagine how many bags of feed that many chickens consumed! Dad said he had to move back to Ohio because he couldn't keep Mom happy any where but Morgan county Ohio.

Hi, I live in Dinwiddie, Virginia. It is in central VA. about 30 miles from the NC border. We have the 5 acre homestead and buildings of a working 200 acre farm. We bought the place about 22 years ago. Farmers share straw, hay, and peanuts and hubby bushhogs edges of fields and barn lots for them. He is retired and loves riding his tractor. We have an acre garden or so that was strange this year to say the least. It is producing finally ' cause we hauled so much water to it and God blessed it. Hubby is from Elizabethton,Tenn. Born in a home his dad built on top of the "second to the last mountian top" in Tenn.  :) I was a Navy brat and was born in Seatlle, Wash., moved to Green Bay Wis., Chicago, Ill., Long Beach, Ca., Guam, San Diago, Ca., Marlow Hgts, Md. and now Va. Whew!! I never wrote it all down before. This is our homestead, very rural. I love it.

What a vast area CITR covers.  I was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the foot of America's mountain, Pikes Peak.  Went to college in Bethany OK, came back to the Springs, married and my husband was transferred to Fort Benning GA where our oldest son was born.  Then it was on to Southern California for the next 35 years and 3 more children and finally, 10 years ago back to Colorado Springs where we live in a house my grandparents purchased in 1932 (house as built in the late 1880's).  We have a small garden which will be enlarged next year.  Don't want to live anywhere else in the USA!.

Learn from the mistakes of others.  Trust me…..you can't live long enough to make them all yourself!

Washinton state.  Born in Vancouver, Washington, my family moved up to Renton (subburb of Seattle) in

1958 and I presently live in University Place, Washington (subburb of Tacoma).  The Pacific coastline to the Cascade has lots of evergreens.  The eastern side (east of the Cascades) is a lot warmer and drier.  There's corn fields, alfalfa fields, apple orchards, and other crops.

Dad and his new wife (my mom passed in 2007) still live where I grew up, the property is on Cedar River.

Everyone has a Prince Charming. Mine just took a wrong turn, got lost, and is too stubborn to ask for directions.

I live in the north central part of the beautiful state of Pennsylvania.  Here it is mostly rural with mountains and lush forests! I live a few miles due North of Williamsport which is the home of Little League Baseball and the site of the Little League World Series.  I was born and raised here and am a true-blue country girl!!  My grand daughter proudly boasts she's a Redneck Woman!  Nothing can come close to life in the country!!!!shimmy

Hi everyone. I live in Central, Louisiana, a rural city just north of Baton Rouge. We are brand new to this whole town thing. Until a couple of years ago we were just this big, disorganized area of glorified pig trails (roads) and lots of space. Then we all got together and voted ourselves a new city with its own school district. Lots of growing pains but we couldn't be more proud.

Hey everyone, central Texas here, Brownwood to be exact.  Been here for about 16 years now.  Born in  Arkansas and was privileged to live in many areas of our fine country (read Oil Field Trash…wink)  Spent most of my summers growing up with a favorite aunt and uncle on their dairy farm in SW Oklahoma.  I miss that life, it was hard but rewarding work.

I was born and raised within a mile of where I live now.  My mom and dad still live there.  We haven't always lived here but I'm glad to be back home.  We live in a log home on a little 20 acre farm in Western Kentucky with our two boys and all our critters.

Living, learning and loving on our little farm in Kentucky!

I am from North Carolina.  I live in the city, but my heart longs to be in the country.  Maybe when we retire we can move to out of the city.  In the meantime, I try to bring the country into my home and life in all the ways I can.  I may not be able to have chickens, goats, or cows; but i do have cats.  I also try to make homemade food, not eat out for health reasons, and live a simple lifestyle.  I love working in the yard, cooking, and crafting when I can!

We live in coastal Virginia in the city of Chesapeake near the Virginia Beach line. It's rural here now, but the surrounding area is growing fast. There is an outlying navy landing field very close to us which, while quite noisy at times, keeps development at bay. We live on land that my husbands grandfather owned and has been handed down with family members living all around us. Our house is on 1.3 acres but my brother-in-law has 20 acres from the original farm just across the road where we raise chickens, berries and vegetables. I soooooooo want a cow.moo

Hi, everyone.  I am from central West Virginia, Looneyville to be exact.  It is about 30 miles north of Charleston.  Born here, moved when I was six years old, to Akron, Ohio, then Mosheim, Texas, and then back to Roane County, West Virginia at the age of 13.  I have moved several times in my adult life, but ended back here to stay a little over 30 years ago.  Can not imagine living anywhere else but here on the farm.

Hi everyone!  I am from Phoenix, Arizona and am a native: a rare bird!  My parents are divorced, so I grew up all over the Valley of the Sun.

My husband was born and raised here as well, and also split his choldhood:  much of it was spent in Tombstone, AZ.

We both attended school in Tucson at the University of Arizona, and are your basic desert rats.  If it drops below 75 degrees, I have to put a sweater on. :)

Born and raised in Los Angeles, I've lived in Southern California all my life, and I'm still here. But I've travelled quite a bit. I visited nearly all of the lower 48 before I was 14 on family vacations. Later, some parts of South American and Europe. I've never had any farm animals. (Except for the summer we had 25 chickens on our city lot in L.A., but that's a story for the FBR blog!) My dad told many stories of growing up on a farm in Colorado, and I've always wanted to live in the country. Kids grown and gone, my husband and I are looking forward to moving north onto maybe a few acres, and having at least chickens, maybe a couple of goats, and definitely our own garden. (We currently grow our veggies at our local community garden.) Meanwhile, I live vicariously through Susanne!

Born and raised in West Tennessee in a little town called Dyer. (Not to be confused with Dyersburg.)

Lived there until I went to college in Jackson, TN, and after graduation I blazed a trail westward to Southern California. Stayed there for almost a year, then decided to head back towards home.

Lived in Dyer for another five years, and then I moved to West Virginia, and now I'm back in TN.

I just can't escape! :D
