We live near the town of Punxsutawny, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.  It is incredibly beautiful here…a wonderful mix of woods and farm land…rolling hills, creeks, Amish farms and enclaves, etc.  Many of the back roads aren't even paved and wind through woods so green in summer it makes your heart ache.  I love it here happy-flower

Wow! Well I saw a few Georgians on there but I thought I would make my presence known too!

I was born in Marietta Ga, moved to Woodstock when I was 3 stayed there until I graduated and married my first husband. With him (military) I moved from there to California (Fallbrook) then back to Ga, then to Tx in this little town called Longview…then back. After a divorce and married to my wonderful hubby we have settled down in Calhoun, GA. I am about 30 mins from Chattanooga Tn in the foothills of the mountains. I love it here. I am just close enough to mom and dad where we can visit but not close enough for drop-ins…haha. I saw one from Ellijay I am about 20 to 30 mins from you!happy-flower

I'm born and raised (mostly) in SE Michigan, South of Detroit. I lived in NPR Florida for 7 years, from 12-19 and came back. But my heart is in the country. My grandmother was from Virginia, and I always felt at home when we would visit family in Virginia and West Virginia. My grandpa was a cowboy in Texas, but his family was from hill country, too. My other grandparents were from Tenessee and Kentucky. So it must run in my blood and I am out of place here for sure! lol I never feel like I'm at home until I get into the country areas.

My roots are in western New York, near Buffalo.  So I have seen how the snow flies in the snow belt. I grew up in a small town east (of course east…there IS no 'west of') Buffalo on about 5 1/2 acres.  We grew all of our vegetables in a large vegetable garden which Mom canned in the fall.  I moved to the burbs of NYC where I worked and lived until last May when I made the move to Arlington Texas.  I've always said you can speed your life up to match the city, but I think it is very hard for someone from the city to slow to country life.  I prefer the slower pace myself.

Delta, Colorado – on the west side of the Rocky Mountains.  We call it Colorado West!  20 degrees this morning.  Better than the 1 degree of yesterday.  High today will be close to 30 and by Friday, close to 40.  Yea!  Perfect area.  Grand Mesa, the largest flat top mountain in the world, is our neighbor.

Rustburg Va which is just south of Lynchburg VA. I live on a farm and have chickens, guineas, turkeys, peacocks, quail and dogs. I have 5 horses that stay here but I do not own them. I want more animals but travel too much. It is hard to get people to feed and care for so many animals. My husband grows a big garden and we enjoy being on a farm. I am enjoying this site too!!

I am in the minority as we live in Western Australia. Very dry over this side of the country while over in the Eatern States it is very wet and flooding in places as you may have heard by now. ery devestating for a lot of people and the clean up will likely take several years.

We live on a 5 acre property way down south in the state, have ahuge vegetable garden and an orchard under development, several sheep and chickens.

Always something needing to be done but then isn't that the fun of this lifestyle?  sun

Greetings!! I have been so fascinated with Suzanne and this wonderful site that I joined last night and am very excited to be with so many who share the same passions.

I grew up in Southcoast Mass and at 19 married my husband who joined the Army and we have traveled quite a bit over the years. Ok, Ga, Germany, and lived in Weirton W Va while he was working out of Pittsburgh, Pa. After he retired we put our roots down for 13 years in the Western Foothills of Maine. I loved that I could have free range chickens, rabbits and a whole lot of earth to call my own and to transform and plant to my hearts content. Life events sometimes send us in another direction and we have currently returned home to Mass. I am saddened to leave the beauty and the home we created yet love being here with our families and the ocean just down the street. Our new property has many options for my creativity and hoping someday to have another chicken coop in the backyard because I really do miss my girls!chicken
