BBBeeeeeeeeee x Three

Pictured: Strawberry-Lemon Marmalade.

I had a bunch of strawberries recently and thought of canning them whole but got discouraged by reports that they lose color and flavor that way, so ended up making more strawberry-lemon marmalade. If you haven’t tried this recipe yet, you must! It’s my favorite preserve, hands down, and everyone loves to get it for gifts. The lemon pieces in it taste like candy. Get the recipe here.

Ball Blue BookIt’s a Ball Blue Book Project day! And I’m giving away THREE books today!! Today’s three-book Ball Blue Book giveaway is sponsored by Janet Boivin “in honor of the family canners and the cellars they kept well-stocked for many years for their large families in Roane County.” Those wonderful women were her mother, Mae Epling Rowe, grandmother, Lula Drake Epling, and great-grandmother, Eliza Lewis Rowe.

For a chance to win: Leave a comment on this post and let me know you want it. You can just put (BBB) at the end of your comment or otherwise note that you want to be in the draw. Three winners will be drawn by random comment number to receive a Ball Blue Book. Eligible entry cut-off is midnight Eastern (U.S.) time tonight (July 14). This post will be updated with the winner by 9 a.m. Eastern (U.S.) time tomorrow (July 15). Return to this post to claim your book if your name is drawn.
