Welcome to the Next Level

Dec

My new design will go live sometime this weekend! As I mentioned previously, I’m developing a new feature content area on my blog for country living how-to’s, recipes, crafts, and other fun stuff. I’ll be posting that content through the blog so it can be categorized. Along with primarily new material, I’ll be reposting some recipes I’ve done before so they can be indexed properly on the main How to Do Stuff page (which will make it easier to find a recipe I posted, say, a year ago, rather than having to do a search). For the most part, I’ll be posting these with the “read more” tag to keep the posts short and not overwhelm the blog.

I’ll still be writing daily “regular” blog posts, of course. As I develop new material, I’ll post it either first and beneath the regular daily post or on the weekends. I’ve been taking weekends off blogging for awhile, but I plan to go back to posting on weekends to get up new How to Do Stuff content–so check in on the weekends to see what I’m up to! It will take months, in fact years, to fulfill my entire vision for the How to Do Stuff pages, and you’ll probably see me work on it in spurts that die down when I have a book deadline.

It will take a while to get everything set up, but once the new design and index pages are built, hopefully this will make more sense. I hope the feature content adds to the fun you have when you come here. Without all of you, nothing I do here would matter! Please note that relevant advertising is being added to the site to offset design and development expenses and to allow me to devote more time to creating the quality content I want to bring here….not to mention all the nonsense.
:sheepjump:

This weekend’s Free Book Friday–a November Silhouette Special Edition release, Dear Santa by Karen Templeton. Let me know if you want it, and let me know what you think about the new design and features! (Check back later to see the design if it’s not here when you first stop by.) Drawing Monday!

I want to end with a big hug to all of you who stop by here regularly and inspire me to work harder to make a great blog for you!

P.S. And, if you’re like me and have no idea how to use an RSS feed (seriously, I’m such a tech-tard), the latest article on Dandelion on using a feed reader is for you! (Then come back and subscribe to my feed!) I’m gonna go read it myself right now. Yes, I have a feed and yet don’t know how to use it myself….

Can’t wait to see what you are up to! The ‘How to’ page sounds interesting! I don’t want to seem greedy, but enter me in the book draw anyways. One can never have too much to read!

tapping foot… Can’t wait to see the new design! The how to do stuff sounds like such fun!

(how do kitties look so innocent when they are sleeping? You know when they wake up they are going to bring you a mouse, or knock over something on a shelf and break it, or other kitty type activity)

I bet the new design will be great! I look forward to the country-living additions. :)

That RSS feed information was so helpful – I had no idea that existed! It’s really going to save me blog-hopping time. The only thing is that for some reason when I tried to subscribe to this blog, it gave me “Romance Bloggers” with what appeared to be a whole grouping of blogs. I posted a question to Kacey about it.

Ellen, I’m sorry, that must have been a glitch. There are a lot of technical things going on behind the scenes here today. Please try again! Thanks for letting me know!

:flying: If you’re a Tech-tard, that means I must be a tech-retardodo. Yup, I am tech-challenged in a big way but have figured out how to enter your contests. :weather:

I’m looking forward to seeing the new design and features! I’ll have to wait till Monday, though, I think. Trying to access most sites via old-fashioned slow dial-up is a pain.

I’ll also check out the RSS tech feed too. Great stuff, Suzanne.

BTW, I love the kitty pic, especially. I *long* to have cats that will cuddle up together. *SIGH*

And yes, please enter me in the draw.

-Kim, who *finally* has a working furnace!

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
