Working in the Garden

Apr
10

It’s that time of year again! Time to work in the garden! And I’ve got my work cut out for me.

Stylin’, baby!

Hmmmm….

How about this one?

Scarecrow: “Shall we go for a drive in my Aston Martin now?”

Or how about Little Scarecrow on the Prairie?

I think that might put a bee in his bonnet.

Maybe a pretty bow?

Nah, too girly.

Maybe a football helmet?

Too small.

I know! Howdy, pardner.

Okay, never mind.

How about a dirt bike helmet?

I didn’t think this scarecrow could possibly get creepier.

But this is FREAKING ME OUT.

Perhaps a bit of holiday spirit instead?

Wrong holiday.

It’s difficult to wear a hat when you have no head. Maybe just a little jewelry.

Wait….

I know.

AN APRON!!!!!

Perfect!

Whew, gardening is hard. I think I might have a blister!

Oh, Oh, and a bonnet to go with the apron! And, a hoe leaning against the arm. I always did love playing dress-up.

Hmmm.. my kind of gardening – Procrastination Gardening!!! It is way more fun than turning the soil, lol!

I’d say it looks as though you have too much time on your hands…but I know better! That was really fun. I especially liked the apron!

  17. Holli says:

Love the apron, maybe his head should be a plastic pumpkin!? :shimmy:

  18. Melissa at The Highlandview Pantry says:

:happyfeet: This post reminds me I need to get busy on making a scarecrow. We are palnting a garden where we are building so we won’t be able to scare off critters on our own.

  19. ConnieH says:

That’s perfect! Your mind amazes me Suzanne…LOL I like the idea of a pumpkin head. Make it look creepy like the one in Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow : :jackolantern:

I vote for the apron, but I’d also go for the plastic pumpkin for a head. This guy just couldn’t get much creepier – belongs in a movie!!

  23. Elena says:

Wow, you accomplished adorable and creepy in one fell post ;).

What about giving this thing it’s other shoulder, perhaps???? But, I do suppose it IS a scarecrow… so…. Hmmmm…

Great job!! What a fun post! I just found your blog and can tell I am going to enjoy reading :).

  24. catslady says:

Oh goodness do you have a “rat hat” lol I meant to type “red” roflmao.

  26. Sheryl - Runningtrails says:

    LOL! You are too funny!
    I liked the cowboy hat.

  27. Tori Lennox says:

Why don’t you make him/her/it a head from a pillowcase (sorta like the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz)?

  28. Joan says:

I had to laugh, my husband just went to pick up an Aston Martin in the US last night. So now I know the hat he needs to buy.

  29. whaledancer says:

Love it! But I think a LEGHORN bonnet would be appropriate, too.
