Love the view from the front porch. I grew up down the road in Huntington. WV is truly God’s country! :typing:

I wouldn’t mess with you, either. Neither should any would-be thief!

Oooh…I want one of those! Hubby will only get me a pellet gun. He’s skeered I’ll shoot rock salt in his butt when he gets sassy if I had a REAL gun.

I’ll bet that fox will stop eating my chickens and ducks if I pulled a few rounds off at him.

  10. Estella says:

    Good for you, Suzanne!

  11. Susan says:

I dare anyone to mess with you!

Good luck, I can’t keep anything bird type creatures too many coyotes around. I have a bb gun ready just in case tho. Have enjoyed reading your blog. My husband is originally from eastern Ohio where some of his family still live in western W. Virginia. His family still own acres of property in eastern Ohio and share it amonst themselves. Have a great new year.

I am a country girl at heart and have my on 20 guage shot gun that my husband wrapped with camo tape w/o asking! I love chickens too and I’d get that camo wrapped gun out if I had too. Wish I could talk hubby into chickens. Maybe someday. Lucky you!

Hey again. I just read the blackberry post and I couldn’t stop laughin’ and remembering my own blackberry pickin. I love, love, love them. Grew up with them. My grandpa raised em’ in the city. Tried watermelon but ended up going to safeway. But,I have to tell you about my paint horse and blackberries. We used to rent this pasture for our ponies on the back part were these lovely black berry bushes. I could always tell when it was pickin’ time because paint would show up with a purple snoot. I would have to rush to pick before he ate them all. Oh. Your story brings back memories! Thanks so much!

I think that is a very appropriate present for the country. I too have received a Browning 22 and a Remington 270 as presents. Not to mention a chain saw for an anniversary present and this Christmas, a new 8′ extension pole saw. I bet your envious! LOL
We live in the Texas Hill Country and experience about the same as you do. Stay tough!

  17. Donna says:

Skinny Minnie! You ARE skinny. I have not been that thin since my 20’s. LOL LOL LOL
