Actually, honestly, I’m not big on flowers. I mean, I love flowers, but the kind from a store? Not so much. I’d rather have the kind that grow in my garden or along the side of the road. What about you? I need to know. I mean, maybe I’m even weirder than I think…..

I’m with you. Field flowers, dandelions, and lily of the valley in shot glass vases grace our kitchen table each spring and summer. It is a ritual the kids really enjoy even into young adulthood. It is a sweet, simple, genuine and very nostalgic gift to me.

…..hmmm, wishing for spring, buried under three feet of snow and -9 degrees C today.

I love flowers and I love houseplants..I don’t care for a dozen roses so my husband will buy me a rose bush..One time he bought me a dozen roses and when they started to wilt I cut a couple in 3 and stuck them in the dirt in my back yard with a glass jar over them..One grew and even bloomed in the spring..Actually it bloomed several times..I did this is March as these were anniversary flowers..Well when my son was visiting his pit bull step on my rose and it died..:-(

Store bought flowers are okay…it is more the thought than the actual flowers. Flowers just don’t last very long – so for the cost of them as to the time they last…they are a waste of money.

I love both garden flowers and plant shop flowers. I’d love to be able to have fresh bouquets in the house year-round.

What I think is silly is all the hype about Valentine’s Day — what about the other 364 days of the year? How about letting the people you love know it, every day, in small ways? What a concept!

However, inquiring minds what to know what “52″ gives you (and vice versa). If that can be related on a G-rated web site.

It shouldn’t matter where the flowers come from. Enjoy your wildflowers in season and flower shop flowers the rest of the year. Daisies are my favorite flower so for years, my late hubbie had a standing order at the florist for fresh ones every two weeks. I was never without flowers in the house. Enjoy them where ever they come from. Happy Valentine’s Day to all you beautiful bloggers. Hugs to all and I hope you all have a romantic day.

I thought it was a baby she wanted!!! Ha,ha, ha… Flowers I love them. I dont’ have space to share with potted plants so I’d rather have cut flowers once in a while and only one gerber (because of space) My husband just told me this morning, “If you wnat you can take the girls and get yourself some flowers”. Flowers outside are great too.

Well, I’ve been known to buy fresh flowers in the winter from the grocery store. Or force bulbs inside. I love fresh flowers in my house. And when my yard can’t provide them, I do what I can. Besides I love to photograph them using my ott light for lighting.

I love flowers of all kinds. But I really like those in someone else’s garden. I can enjoy them and not have to weed them.

My absolute favorites, however, are those brought in by sweet little grandchildren. The smiles on their faces that come along with them is the absolute best.

I’m pretty easy to please. If the man brings it home, as a surprise, for me, then I’m mush. Store bought are fine, roadside is a bit better (it speaks to spontaneity) but in small boxes are the pinnacle!

While florists are highly talented people and I would never turn down any bouquet, there are things I appreciate more then a pre-bought arrangement. I love when the DH goes out into our garden and picks our flowers and arranges them for me. That shows his love more than paying for some. But since Valentines usually finds us buried under a deep blanket of snow… I received breakfast in bed today- totally unexpected. I thought it was incredibly thoughtful.

I don’t mind flowers from the store. In fact, I always think it’s kind of sweet when the beloved brings home a bouquet as he’s shopping for the milk and whatever, cause when I’m doing the shopping, if I think of him, it’s to wish he was rolling that cart through the aisles instead of me!

For me Valentine’s Day also serves as mine and my husbands anniversary. With that being said, store bought flowers could get very costly. I not the fu fu type person. I had rather get a card and spend time together. Go to a movie, out to eat. I enjoy making memories rather than receiving something that is only going to die in a week. I think flowers are beautiful and they belong in a potted plant or in a flower garden.

I would choose a Rose bush over a dozen roses any day then I can fill my vase with flowers that smell wonderful several times a year. (did you ever compare the difference in the aroma between store roses and garden roses?) Happy Valentines Day to the ladies in your house.

I was going to say, “You’re not weird at all, I feel the same way!”, but then I realized that just because I feel the same way, doesn’t mean it’s normal! But a fistful of tiger lilies or forget-me-nots picked on the way home means a LOT more to me than a cellophane-wrapped bouquet of stale roses from Wal-Mart. Just sayin’. Happy Valentine’s Day.

I love any and all flowers. I adore store bought ones and get a giggle out of ones that appear from the neighbors yard. I even love the fake plastic ones that the neighbor lady puts out in her flower bed during the dead of winter just for some color.

I would be overjoyed with ones that grew in my yard but I have the brown thumb of death and flower fear me.

I’m not much into gardening. There are some peonies that grow in my yard. I picked them last summer and THOUGHT I had removed all the ants. I hadn’t. I like store bought flowers.

It’s just the price of store bought flowers that make me cringe. Come on, I’d much rather have the money spent on a nice meal out or a new outfit! I DO love flowers, I always grow a yard full of them, but all I can think of when I see bought ones are~how much did those babies cost? Just the super practical person in me! Same thing with a store purchased card. OUCH!!!

Yep…I’m a wildflower person, myself. HOWEVER…you CAN get bouquets of wildflowers at the grocery…and…they’re actually very nice.

But…if the flowers don’t come through, I’m just as happy when my hubby takes me out for a nice dinner and gives me a mushy card.

I love roses of any kind and got some in a UPS package yesterday from my wonderful husband. Today he gave me a couple boxes with CDs, an annoying red bull from Hallmark and some custom printed pink M&Ms. They say “I love Jodie”, “With all my heart”. I think those M&Ms are the best Valentine’s gift that I’ve ever gotten. Happy Valentines to everyone in your family and living nearby especially Georgia!

Hey I’ll take flowers any way I can get them. Except for lily’s. Those things just give me the creeps. I associate them with death for some reason. But any other type, wild, homegrown or store bought are a wonderful surprise.

I’m really fond of yellow roses (Goes back to my mom’s Peace Rose in our back yard.) so the hubs surprises me with them whenever possible. I can grow plants, but not most flowers so I love store bought ones! Actually it’s just the idea that he takes the trouble to buy me flowers that’s special, be it one or a dozen.

My favorite are always those from the garden but during the winter when none are available the florist variety are just fine. I never can get the movement in a vase from them like I do with fresh picked flowers that have already altered their growth pattern according to the direction of the sun. Spring is around the corner though and my bulbs are trying hard to pop through the soil. We moved last march and I moved lots of plants but lost even more. Our new yard does not have very good soil and not enough room for a big vegetable plot or flower beds like I had, so I need to learn how to do more raised beds.

I am not into flowers either that much..I do like white roses and orchids…and Hydrangeas and all kinds, but just not a floral arrangement person really. When my mother was in the hosp. – she got so many flowers we were gagging and I had to cart them home each night. I also helped my friend work in her floral shop one day and realized I could not be a florist – I was so sick of smelling those flowers after a day! Making the arrangements were sort of fun…but I just got sick of the smell. They are also so sterile looking as an arrangement, or maybe stiff is a better word…I would prefer natural..out in the country type…wildflowers and such.

OMG! If you get the May issue of Allure magazine…go to page 226 to page 233…is it just me? I think that model greatly resembles Princess…if she were made up in those fleshtone makeup colors and about 5 years older! Does anyone else see the resemblence????
